Blistering takedown of Jim Jordan opens Hur hearing: 'Wonder if you have read' report

In Tuesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing with special counsel Robert Hur, who investigated classified documents found in President Joe Biden's personal belongings, ranking member Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) tore into Republicans for misrepresenting the conclusions of the report — and went after former President Donald Trump's own issues with top secret materials, which have landed him in considerably more legal trouble.

"House Republicans may be desperate to convince America that white, conservative men are on the losing end of a two-tiered justice system, a theory that appeals to the MAGA crowd that has no basis in reality," said Nadler, addressing Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Trump lawyers terrified he'll talk 'his way into a mess' at hush money trial: report

Former President Donald Trump's hush money trial is coming up soon, pending a last-ditch legal motion to postpone it that many experts believe will go nowhere — and his allies are starting to worry he'll get himself in more trouble by running his mouth in court.

The case, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, centers on Trump's alleged hush payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels to conceal an affair between them, blocking the information from voters ahead of the 2016 election — which Bragg charges as felony business fraud, in service of an illegal campaign finance scheme to manipulate the election.

Trump smacked down by E. Jean Carroll's lawyer for trying to delay payment

E. Jean Carroll's attorneys fended off Donald Trump's attempt to stall two more months in paying the massive defamation judgment imposed against him.

The $91.6 million bond floated by Federal Insurance Company contained some fine print that would have given the former president 30 additional days to come up with the money he owed Carroll, in addition to 30 days for the insurer to come up with the money if Trump failed to pay – essentially giving him two months to stall, reported The Daily Beast.

The former president has been indicted on 40 felony charges in the case, which is being overseen by the Trump-appointed federal judge Aileen Cannon, and Rubin told "Morning Joe" that his immunity argument would almost certainly fail in any other court.
