'Bright red warning signs are flashing for Trump' despite NH win: Politico
Although former President Donald Trump easily bested rival Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire primary, Politico reports that the results nonetheless showed that "bright red warning signs are flashing" for him in a general election.
In particular, the publication notes that polls of New Hampshire Haley voters are showing that "voters he’ll need in November are either, at best, not voting for him, or at worst vowing to never vote for him" later this year.
"The general election coalition Trump would have to build is deeply fractured over issues of his conduct," writes Politico. "Just look at Haley’s supporters, whose support he would need in November. In New Hampshire on Tuesday, roughly 9 in 10 Haley voters said they would not be happy with a third Trump nomination, according to exit polls, while 84 percent of her backers said Trump would be unfit for the presidency again if convicted of a crime."

In fact, polling suggests that Trump would take a significant hit with swing voters if he is convicted by a jury of his peers on any of the 91 felony charges he's facing.
Trump is due to go on trial in March for allegedly trying to defraud the United States in his efforts to illegally remain in power by overturning the 2020 presidential election, and he also faces future trials for alleged fraud related to hush-money payments to an adult film star, and for obstructing government efforts to retrieve top-secret documents that he had stashed at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
