A federal appeals court will weigh whether to allow Donald Trump a second shot to argue that his hush-money case should be moved from New York state court into a federal courtroom.

The latest move from the former president’s legal team comes after U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein rejected Trump’s request last month seeking permission to make a new argument that his criminal case should be moved into the federal court system in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling this summer on presidential immunity, CNN reported.

A Washington Post columnist on Monday evening said she found herself unexpectedly agreeing with something Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) said — calling his statement, "True — and terrifying."

Ruth Marcus wrote Monday that much to her "surprise," she found a point of agreement with former President Donald Trump's running mate: that the most important job after president of the United States in a possible Trump-Vance administration is "who we select as attorney general."

Showcasing her prosecutorial prowess, Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally Monday night put Donald Trump’s own words front and center, using a montage of damning clips from the former president’s rallies and interviews as exhibit number one on why he is a danger to the country.

“Listen to his words, he tells us who he is, and he tells us what he would do if he’s elected president,” Harris told the crowd at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania. “So, here tonight I will show you one example of Donald Trump’s worldview and intentions. Please roll the clip.”

Donald Trump's former secretary of defense told CNN on Monday night he's taking the former president's concerning remarks "seriously" that he wants to use military force against the "enemy from within" — whom he has described as "radical left lunatics," "sick people" and even political opponents.

"I think the bigger problem are the people from within. We have some very bad people. We have some sick people. Radical left lunatics,” Trump told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Former President Donald Trump cut off answering any more questions abruptly at his town hall event in Oaks, Pennsylvania, on Monday — saying, "Let's not do any more questions. Let's just listen to music. Who the hell wants to hear questions?"

Trump then proceeded to spend several minutes doing nothing, while several different songs blared out over the crowd, taking no further questions and seemingly leaving even his own surrogate, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) confused and unsure what to do.

Responding to recent comments that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) made about the end of their friendship, a former Yale classmate said Monday night that while she too is “sad about the loss of our friendship,” the Republican vice presidential nominee has “a different definition of what love looks like.”

“I’m sad about the loss of our friendship, but I think, you know, I have a different definition of love than J.D.,” said Sofia Nelson, Vance’s former Yale Law School classmate and one-time close friend, who clashed with Vance over their disagreements about gender-affirming health care. Nelson, who is transgender, told CNN anchor Erin Burnett on Monday night on her show “OutFront” that Vance’s stance on issues including LGBTQ+ and women’s rights “is dangerous.”

Former President Donald Trump's one-time National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is ramping up his apocalyptic rhetoric to a new and dangerous extreme, Ja'han Jones wrote for MSNBC's "ReidOut Blog."

Flynn, who was fired from Trump's administration and took a plea deal for lying to federal investigators about his ties to Russia before being pardoned by Trump, has since descended into extreme conspiracy theory circles, in particular forming close ties to the QAnon movement, which believes Trump must save America from Satanic child sex trafficking cannibals. He has previously suggested the U.S. should undergo a military coup like that in Myanmar.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) spent Monday night attacking broadcast news journalists — calling them "in-kind contributions for Vice President Kamala Harris — as he defended former President Donald Trump's decision not to reveal his medical records.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham played a clip on her show of Johnson's appearance on "Meet the Press" in which Johnson tells the interviewer it's "unnecessary" for Trump to release his medical records because "he's on display every minute."

Calling the moment “an emergency” and making clear that he views Donald Trump as unfit to return to the presidency, prominent conservative and staunch Trump critic Charlie Sykes said he will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris – and encouraged other conservatives to follow suit.

“This is the theme echoed by essentially all of the conservatives who have broken ranks: We may disagree on policy, but this is an emergency,” Sykes wrote in a column Monday for MSNBC. “And in every genuine crisis, people of goodwill put aside their differences. When the emergency passes, we can go back to arguing about other things; but right now, the moment demands that we make common cause, and put country over party. Even, and especially, if that means voting for Kamala Harris.”

Former President Donald Trump is planning to conclude his campaign with a huge rally in Madison Square Garden in New York City, an event that has drawn confusion for not being in a battleground state, and which has drawn comparisons to when Nazi supporters gathered at the same location in 1939.

But because the event doesn't appear to be charging for tickets, and instead handing them out only on a first-come, first-served basis, a pair of anti-Trump conservatives associated with the Lincoln Project had a lot of fun on Monday trolling the former president with a scheme to mess it all up.

Donald Trump has not promised to certify the election results in the case he loses to Kamala Harris next month — which concerns election officials and experts.

Referring to the lawsuits, protests and insurrection that took place as a result of Trump's loss to President Joe Biden in 2020, Center for Election Innovation and Research executive director David Becker recently told The Washington Post, "This is not a hypothetical. This is not fearmongering. This is what happened in 2020 and since, on a widespread scale."
