5 more Trump attorneys, aides publicly named in AZ fake elector indictment

Attorney General Kris Mayes has released the names of five more people who were indicted by a grand jury for the part they played in Arizona’s 2020 fake elector scheme to keep former President Donald Trump in the White House.

Mayes announced on April 24 that a grand jury had indicted 18 people, including all 11 fake electors, for their actions related to the fake elector plot. But she did not initially release the names of seven of the 18 since they had not yet been legally served, although it was easy to figure out who some of them were through statements describing them in the indictment.

‘Historic’ Nebraska tornadoes and storms leave damage in their wake

WAVERLY, Nebraska — A wave of at least six tornadoes that local meteorologists called “historic” swept across eastern Nebraska on Friday, flattening a business, flipping a train and destroying dozens of suburban homes near Omaha.

But as of late Friday, officials had confirmed no serious injuries or deaths from some of the worst storms to hit the Omaha area since the May 1975 tornadoes that killed three people, injured hundreds and tore through an area near 72nd and Pacific Streets.

'A national disgrace': Ex-DOJ prosecutor goes off on the Supreme Court's immunity hearing

During an appearance on MSNBC's "The Weekend," former Department of Justice white-collar crime prosecutor Ankush Khardori went on a furious rant about the conduct of the conservative Supreme Court justices who took part in Donald Trump's presidential immunity hearing.

Khardori, who now provids legal commentary for Politico, wasted no time when asked about the line of questioning of the jurists , several of whom seem to have no problems with letting Trump get away with fomenting a coup on Jan. 6.

'Wasted protest vote': Trump flips out on RFK Jr. after polls suggest appeal to GOP voters

A series of polls released this week show Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s quixotic candidacy might attract more Republican-leaning voters in 2024 than Democrats. That may have been what prompted former President Donald Trump to release a three-post screed attacking him.

On Friday night, The 45th president of the United States set his sights on RFK Jr., insisting to his millions of followers that the independent presidential candidate was actually a "Radical Left Liberal" who was secretly working to help President Joe Biden's reelection campaign. He even attempted to assign Kennedy one of his patented nicknames: "Junior,'" notably with an unexplained apostrophe that he repeated throughout all three posts.

Trump's lawyers are being forced to play 'a losing game' because of his demands: NYT

Donald Trump insiders and courthouse observers are increasingly agreeing that the former president is not being afforded the best defense possible in his Manhattan hush money trial because of demands he is putting upon his lawyers.

At the conclusion of the second week of the trial where the former president is charged with 34 felony counts, it is increasingly apparent that Trump is "hamstringing" his legal team by not allowing them to admit he's not perfect, according to a deep dive by the New York Times.

'Blockbuster' Trump trial witness blew up his key defense: ex-prosecutor

The name Stormy Daniels has been an albatross for Donald Trump ever since he won the presidency in 2016.

And given that the former president at one point pleaded ignorance to having even met the adult film star, former federal prosecutor Gene Rossi believes it could "hurt" his defense now that his executive assistant of three decades, Rhona Graff, testified remembering she was in Trump Tower and being considered for a spot on his television show "Celebrity Apprentice".

‘Clear indication’: Dems accuse GOP congressional candidate of illegal super PAC ties

Michigan’s state Democratic committee has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, accusing a Republican congressional candidate of illegally coordinating with a super PAC funded by his brother, Raw Story has learned.

The letter, from Michigan Democratic Party Chairwoman Lavora Barnes, questions the circumstances surrounding what initially appeared to be a $1 million contribution by Paul Hudson, a Republican candidate for Congress in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, to the West Michigan for Change super PAC, which is supporting his candidacy.

'I'm turning on this one': Bill Maher reveals he thinks Trump could lose hush money case

Bill Maher has previously criticized the hush money cover-up case against Donald Trump, but he said on Friday night that he now believes Trump could lose at trial.

Maher, who recently interviewed conservative pundit Piers Morgan about Trump, told former CNN host Don Lemon that he has "always been against" the criminal case accusing Trump of hiding payments to an adult film star for the purposes of affecting the 2016 election.

CNN's Collins presses Trump A.G. Bill Barr on which candidate is a 'threat to democracy'

Former Attorney General Bill Barr remains ever a Donald Trump disciple.

During his Friday sit-down with CNN's Kaitlan Collins the lifelong Republican who served as Trump's second attorney general from 2019 to 2020 characterized President Joe Biden as a greater threat to American democracy and, even though he resigned over the 45th president's 2020 election interference claims — still wants to see a second Trump term given the binary choice between his former boss and the incumbent president.

'Powerful': Trump's 'friend' said to be ex-president's Achilles' heel at trial

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg made a sharp move by putting former National Enquirer chief David Pecker on the stand first to testify at former President Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial, former court staffer and Lawfare correspondent Anna Bower explained on MSNBC Friday.

The reason for that, she said, is that unlike a witness like Michael Cohen, Pecker remains friendly with the former president, and so it is much harder to spin his claims about Trump's alleged "catch and kill" schemes to manipulate the 2016 election as false.

Legal expert shows how 'important' witness in Trump case can show 'he committed a crime'

A banker took the witness stand in Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial on Friday and for CNN's Elie Honig it was a critical moment.

"So the banker, the third witness, is the least sensational witness that we've heard from, but also in my view, the most important," he said Friday night on the network. "Because when people ask, 'Well, where's the crime?' it's really important to remember because we've just spent a week immersed in hush money payments and porn stars and payouts — the crime is in the financing and now we're finally getting to that."

'I vehemently disagree': Trump supporters rebel against ex-president over his latest claim

Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Friday to tear down a candidate he hasn't frequently mentioned before: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Some of his supporters didn't like it.

"RFK Jr. is a Democrat 'Plant,' a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected," wrote Trump. "A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him. Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet…"

Legal expert flags Trump trial statement that 'comes closest to witness intimidation'

Former President Donald Trump's comments about his longtime ally and former National Enquirer head David Pecker are the most compelling case for witness intimidation, legal expert Lisa Rubin told MSNBC's Joy Reid on Friday's edition of "The ReidOut."

Pecker, who helped Trump in a "catch and kill" scheme to bury stories about his alleged affair with Playboy model Karen McDougal, has been the prosecution's first witness in the criminal hush money trial against Trump in Manhattan. The former president has not directly attacked Pecker — but, Rubin said, he has issued what could be interpreted as a threat to him.
