'Stop lying!' Another House Republican town hall devolves into angry shouting

Another Republican town hall went off the rails this week, with videos emerging of angry constituents accusing Rep. Ashley Hinson of lying during a Wednesday gathering in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District.

Hinson was booed at the Worth County meeting as constituents expressed fierce disapproval and jeered while Hinson tried to defend her support for President Donald Trump's policies, particularly his marquee "Big, Beautiful Bill." Attendees confronted her about economic concerns, including wages and the cost of living.

'You would be losing your mind!' Dem shouts at Fox News colleagues over Trump hypocrisy

A Fox News host scolded her colleagues on Thursday for dismissing actions of the Trump administration that they would criticize other presidents for doing.

Jessica Tarlov, co-host of the Fox News show "The Five," noted that her colleagues have been silent about President Donald Trump's efforts to use the government as an investment vehicle and assert control over museum content. Tarlov argued that her co-hosts would be up in arms if a Democratic president attempted to make the same moves.

'Embarrassing and funny': Jeanine Pirro brutally mocked after 'sandwich guy' case flops

The Washington man accused of throwing a sandwich at federal officers — and who subsequently earned the nickname "Sandwich Guy" from fellow Trump administration critics — achieved another win after Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro was forced to admit defeat in her effort to charge him with felony assault.

Pirro begged a grand jury to agree with her charges, but grand jurors refused. The flop earned ridicule for the former Fox News host as legal experts recalled the adage that a grand jury could "indict a ham sandwich." A defendant is not allowed to present his or her case to a grand jury, so it is typically seen as easy to get an indictment from a grand jury. Pirro's failure resulted in scores of puns about a ham sandwich thrower.

'Very disturbed': Immediate investigation sought into Trump admin's 'reckless' move

In the wake of a "Wednesday night massacre" at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and related resignations, Sen. Bernie Sanders on Thursday called for an immediate congressional probe.

Just weeks after the Senate confirmed President Donald Trump's pick to lead the CDC, Dr. Susan Monarez, the director was forced out on Wednesday after reportedly clashing with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Her ouster led to calls for firing Kennedy, four other officials resigning in protest, and a related walkout by agency staff.

'Read the document!' CNN's Jake Tapper unloads on RFK Jr. over 'complete falsehoods'

CNN's Jake Tapper on Thursday afternoon offered a strong rebuttal to the health secretary's justification for firing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director.

Earlier in the day, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed the CDC was an agency that had been "very troubled for a very long time" before the Trump administration began to reform it. One aspect the Trump administration is seeking to change is the CDC's vaccine panel, which recommends vaccines for children. Kennedy also claimed on Thursday that the CDC lists abortion as one of the top 10 medical innovations of all time.

'Misguided!' Utah Republicans vow to defy court's gerrymandering ruling

A state judge found Utah's congressional map is an illegal partisan gerrymander and ordered lawmakers to redraw the map in a way that would almost certainly have to include a Democratic-favoring district in Salt Lake City. But GOP leaders in the legislature have vowed to just redraw another gerrymander that still includes zero Democratic districts, reported Patrick Svitek of The Washington Post.

"Despite a misguided court ruling and an arbitrary 30-day deadline, the Utah Legislature will defend its constitutional authority and move forward with redrawing the state's congressional map," said Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz and Senate President J. Stuart Adams in a joint statement. "The court's order unconstitutionally ties the Legislature's hands by mandating certain redistricting criteria when the U.S. and Utah constitutions leave it to the people's representatives in the legislature to redistrict."
