Republicans now have a white voter problem: new poll

Republicans are facing a perfect storm heading into November's midterms, with new polling revealing that white voters — a demographic the party has relied upon for decades — are defecting in significant numbers and favoring Democratic control of Congress.

According to reporting from Newsweek, a Big Data Poll conducted April 25-28 shows Democrats leading Republicans on the generic ballot by an unprecedented 13 points — their largest advantage ever measured. The shift is being driven partly by collapsing Republican support among white voters.

Trump may be forced to cancel bloody birthday bash event coming at ‘worst possible moment’

President Donald Trump’s unprecedented Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC, event is scheduled to kick off on June 14, but political writer Myra Adams warned Friday that the event may very well end up occurring “at the worst possible moment.”

“For numerous reasons, this UFC event is visually inappropriate and ill-timed. First, historically, the White House grounds have been associated with peaceful endeavors, such as cultural, educational and humanitarian events, especially during special occasions,” Adams wrote in an op-ed published Friday in The Hill.

President Donald Trump's poker-table approach to Iran — using oil blockades to force negotiation — fundamentally misunderstands how modern asymmetric warfare has transformed geopolitics, according to a new analysis.

The 79-year-old president insists Iran has "no cards," but two months of conflict demonstrate otherwise, wrote New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, as smaller powers now leverage information-age and emerging intelligence-age tools to create devastating disruption against militarily superior opponents.

'Oppressed': Bannon attacks protections for Black voters in rant

MAGA strategist Steve Bannon asserted that a law empowering Black voters had "oppressed" Southern states since the days of the Civil Rights movement.

During his Friday War Room broadcast, Bannon reacted to the Supreme Court's decision that rolled back Voting Rights Act protections for Black and Latino voters. The ruling effectively gutted the law by declaring majority-minority districts to be unconstitutional and paved the way for additional white Republican representatives in the South, something he argued the GOP would need to retain its majority and control of Congress.
