Trump will fire Dan Bongino first because 'he's had enough': GOP strategist

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino may be looking for a job in the very near future because Donald Trump has grown weary of his act.

That is the opinion of Republican strategist Susan Del Percio on MSNBC on Sunday, where she claimed the president may rid himself of the former conservative podcaster who has created waves at the Department of Justice over differences of opinion on what is exactly in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

According to reports on Friday, Bongino never showed up for work on Friday after storming out on Attorney General Pam Bondi and reportedly giving Trump an ultimatum that either Bondi goes or he will quit.

Speaking with MSNBC's Alex Witt, Del Percio claimed Bondi will end up on top in the squabble that is roiling the DOJ.

Calling Trump's inner circle, "The gang that still can't shoot straight," she elaborated, "There may always be a group that are going to challenge 'what happened with Jeffrey Epstein? Is there a client list? Let me see the video.' But the administration itself gets its signals all crossed."

"That being said, don't put it past Donald Trump to fire Dan Bongino immediately because he has had enough," she predicted. "He does not like what he's seeing in Dan Bongino. Dan Bongino, from what I hear, really doesn't like working as hard as he's been working and has been figuring out his escape hatch, if you will, so this may have presented a time."

"I think where this is going to play out is that Trump will turn on Bongino before he does on Pam Bondi, no doubt for things that Don said. But the bigger question is, and I think this is what everyone's kind of keeping an eye out is, how will Donald Trump control the narrative, and will that narrative appease the MAGA base? Does he still have control? Because if he doesn't, that will have him all outraged and doing who knows what."

'What did he know?' Ex-CNN anchor claims Trump is in the midst of 'freaking out'

Appearing on MSNBC, former CNN anchor and White House correspondent Jim Acosta expressed surprise at how Donald Trump is mishandling the chaos at the Department of Justice due the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Speaking with host Ali Velshi, Acosta claimed he knows Trump well enough to recognize that things are going horribly wrong and that the president now seems to be in a state of panic.

"Now Donald Trump is saying on Truth Social that leading Democrats wrote the Epstein files and that they're a fake," he began. "And so, you know, he's twisted himself into a pretzel on this and it takes me back to that Cabinet meeting that he had last Tuesday where, you know, somebody asked the question of Pam Bondi about the Epstein files and he flipped out."

"You know, I've been around Donald Trump. I've been up close with him. I think I know when he's worried and he is freaking out right now over these Epstein files," Acosta continued. "And it just raises the question, what is going on here? What is going on with Donald Trump and these Epstein files? We just don't know and that's why Steve Bannon and so many others over the last several days have been saying, go ahead and release the Epstein files."

He later pointed out, "What gives? And, Ali, the question that iIhad earlier this week when the Justice Department put out that memo that tried to sweep the whole thing under the rug, is did some kind of directive come out of the white house come from Susie Wiles, Stephen Miller, or donald trump himself to put out that memo?"

"If that's the case, then that ties this whole matter back to the White House and so that's why I think the age-old Watergate question is operative here: what did the president know and when did he know it?" he concluded.

'15% of calls were answered': NBC host fact-checks Kristi Noem on flood response

NBC host Kristen Welker called out Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem because the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reportedly responded to fewer than 16% of calls in response to the recent deadly flooding in Texas.

"The New York Times is reporting that thousands of calls from flood victims to FEMA call centers went unanswered in the middle of this ongoing disaster because you didn't renew contracts to keep call center staff in place until nearly one week after the floods," Welker told Noem on Sunday. "Why did it take so long to extend those contracts?"

'He wasn't in ICE custody': Homan washes hands of immigrant chased to his death

During an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," Donald Trump's "border czar" Tom Homan took no responsibility for the death of an immigrant who was being pursued by ICE agents this past week.

Near the end of a long interview with Homan, CNN host Dana Bash brought up the death of Jaime Alanis Garcia who was a victim in the raid at Glass House Farms in Camarillo, California and plunged 30 feet off of a building incurring injuries that led to his death.

"What's your reaction to that? Somebody losing their life, running from ICE," the CNN host prompted her guest.

"It's sad, it's unfortunate, he wasn't in ICE custody and ICE did not have hands on this person," he replied. "But it's always unfortunate when there's deaths."

"I mean, no one wants to see people die and, you know, it's– they were doing the job they were serving criminal arrest warrants," he continued. "I mean, the criminal search warrants. And I see the media saying, well, it was an ICE raid. No, they were serving criminal search warrants as part of a criminal investigation involved with child trafficking, child labor. I think it was total of 11 children that were found in that farm, and now they're being interviewed, for interviews, to find out, you know, are they victims of trafficking? If so, who is the subject of that trafficking and let's hold some people accountable. So it's unfortunate when anybody dies."
