‘Bouncy, bouncy!’ CNN cracks up as bored Republican tosses ball on Senate floor

With the Senate hours into its "vote-a-rama" Monday on President Donald Trump’s "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," the sweeping budget reconciliation package chock full of cuts to taxes and social safety programs, CNN spotted one Republican senator bouncing a ball on the Senate floor in an apparent effort to stave off boredom.

“This is taking so long, I literally saw someone bouncing a ball there by the door to the Senate chamber,” noted CNN’s Brianna Keilar, who was speaking with CNN correspondent Lauren Fox, who identified the senator as Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). “Killing some time there, bouncy bouncy.”

'Direct attack': Major union comes out swinging at GOP bill

President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill," currently in the middle of Senate amendment and rewrite, got a tongue-lashing from a major union on Monday.

In a statement, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, or IBEW, President Kenneth Cooper slammed the bill as "a direct attack on working families" that funnels "tax breaks to the rich while turning its back on the people who power this country."

Trump quietly drops lawsuit against pollster for 'brazen election interference'

President Donald Trump has quietly dropped a lawsuit against the Des Moines Register and pollster Ann Selzer for a survey that showed former Vice President Kamala Harris ahead in Iowa before the 2024 presidential election.

"Plaintiffs President Donald J. Trump, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Former State Senator Bradley Zaun, give notice of their dismissal of this action," the group wrote in a motion on Monday.

MAGA adherents, including those in the White House, had a full-blown meltdown over a CNN report on an app called ICEBlock that tracks the activity of Department of Homeland Security officers targeting undocumented migrants for deportation.

CNN's Clare Duffy reported Monday that the tech developer "wants it to be an early-warning system about the location of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. President Donald Trump lashed out at Japan on Monday in a social media post over the U.S.-Japan trade relationship, calling the country “spoiled” for refusing to import American-grown rice.

“To show people how spoiled countries have become with respect to the United States of America, and I have great respect for Japan, they won’t take our RICE, and yet they have a massive rice shortage,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “In other words, we’ll just be sending them a letter, and we love having them as a Trading Partner for many years to come.”
