A clash broke out on CNN after a Republican strategist compared a luxurious gift offered by Qatar's royal family to president Donald Trump to foreign aid provided by the U.S. to other countries.

U.S. attorney general Pam Bondi signed off on the $400 million luxury jet from Qatar, for whom she had previously worked as a lobbyist, but Atlantic staff writer Jerusalem Demsas told "CNN This Morning" on Thursday that the gift looks improper from a number of angles.

U.S. Rep. Delia Ramirez has led calls for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign for weeks, condemning her prominent role in overseeing the Trump administration's virulently anti-immigrant agenda—but on Wednesday she took a rare in-person opportunity to once again call on the far-right Republican to step down.

"For weeks and weeks we've been waiting for Secretary Noem to come before our committee," said Ramirez (D-Ill.) in a video she posted online ahead of the House Homeland Security Committee hearing. "I'm not going to sit there and just let her lie under oath about all the horrifying things that she's doing... I say enough is enough, and in just a few minutes, I'm going to say that to her face, because it's about damn time that person, that secretary, resigns."

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) grilled Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem about whether President Donald Trump had lied when he claimed "MS-13" gang symbols were on a deported man's hand.

During a Wednesday House Homeland Security hearing, Swalwell pointed out that Trump had displayed a photo of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's hand with "MS13" on it.

A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan on charges that she tried to conceal a man from arrest and obstruction of a proceeding, according to The New York Times.

Dugan, a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge, was arrested last month after authorities said she helped an undocumented immigrant evade federal agents waiting outside her courtroom. The indictment is a “significant step” in the Trump Justice Department’s case against her, the Times wrote.

MSNBC analyst Steve Benen pulled no punches Monday in a stinging op-ed that dissected Donald Trump’s latest presidential frustrations, calling the MAGA leader “gobsmacked” by the realities of foreign policy.

“I’m surprised by the degree to which the president is surprised,” Benen, a producer for "The Rachel Maddow Show," wrote Monday. The MSNBC political contributor used his piece to criticize Trump after reports surfaced over the weekend that the president is struggling to make good on his campaign vows to bring a swift end to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

As President Donald Trump signed an executive order to lower drug prices, an ABC reporter questioned the gift of a $400 million plane from Qatar which he is set to receive.

“What do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you?” The reporter asked. “Why not leave it behind?”
