'He can insult me all he wants': ABC's Jonathan Karl spills on covering the Trump Show

Jonathan Karl, chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of This Week for ABC News, is also the author of four books on Donald Trump and his seismic impact on American politics.

First, Front Row at the Trump Show covered the first Trump presidency from a viewpoint built on Karl’s experience of reporting on Trump before he entered politics, in his years as a New York businessman and gossip column staple.

Next, Betrayal and Tired of Winning dealt with Trump’s defeat in 2020, his incitement of the January 6 insurrection, and criminal and civil court cases which seemed set to knock him out of public life, even send him to prison....

'You joking?’ Ex-MSNBC host gobsmacked as former aide blames Trump scandal on 'bad staff'

Former MSNBC Mehdi Hasan was taken aback when a former White House official blamed Trump's staff for giving the president bad information.

Hasan, who founded independent news site Zeteo, asked former Trump chief-of-staff Mick Mulvaney "to explain Trump's insane defense of the doctored image of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles" as justification for deportation.

"He was the man sent illegally to El Salvador by the Trump administration," Hasan said of Abrego Garcia. "They tried to justify his deportation by saying he was an MS-13 gang leader. Trump put out a picture, he held up a picture of his knuckles, showing 'MS-13' photoshopped onto his hand."...

Ousted journalist says ABC News saw him as 'bad for business' amid Trump fallout

Ousted journalist says ABC News saw him as 'bad for business' amid Trump fallout

Former ABC senior national correspondent Terry Moran, who was fired after calling top Trump aide Stephen Miller "a world-class hater," said he believed the network made a "business decision" to let him go.

"It was their calculation," Moran said of his former bosses during an interview with The Bulwark's Tim Miller. "It was a business decision. From my perspective, it looked like a business decision. And I became bad business, it feels like."

The controversy began when Moran posted to social media, "The thing about Stephen Miller is not that he is the brains behind Trumpism. Yes, he is one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy. But that's not what's interesting about Miller. It's not the brains. It's the bile. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He's a world-class hater."...

'I was feeling terrible' in debate, Biden says in TV interview

MADISON, Wis. — Joe Biden vowed Friday to stay in the White House race and blamed his dismal debate performance on "feeling terrible" due to a cold, as he sought to save his reelection campaign with a make-or-break TV interview.

As rebellion brews among some nervous Democratic voters, lawmakers and donors, the one-to-one with the ABC network was hyped as the most consequential of the 81-year-old's long career.

"I was sick, I was feeling terrible... We were trying to figure out what's wrong," the president said in an excerpt of his first TV interview since the debate with Donald Trump....

'Lie of the year!' Trump spends Christmas yelling about DOJ official's ABC News interview

'Lie of the year!' Trump spends Christmas yelling about DOJ official's ABC News interview

Donald Trump on Christmas lashed out against a DOJ official, saying she lied in an interview with ABC News about President Joe Biden's lack of input on the Justice Department's prosecution of the former president and Hunter Biden.

Trump, who has previously attacked Lisa Monaco, the U.S. Deputy Attorney General, did so again on Christmas following the interview. ABC News reported that Monaco said claims that the DOJ is politicized do "a disservice to the men and women of the Justice Department."

But Trump was not buying it. In a post on his own social media site, Truth Social, Trump said "ABC Fake News" had offered her a "softball question" when the reporter asked her if Biden has ever raised the classified documents probe, the Hunter Biden investigation, or Trump's criminal cases, or tried to influence the team....
