Trump memo naming his own FBI as 'deep state' floors legal experts: 'So weird'

Legal experts flagged a newly declassified memo that the White House called deep-state proof, even though it was about Trump's FBI.

During an interview on "All Rise News," legal journalists Adam Klasfeld and Allison Gill dissected the declassified FBI memo that the White House touted as proof of a "deep state" plot against President Donald Trump, even though it actually revealed that the FBI investigated him during his first term as a possible Russian asset.

"It's just one gunshot to the foot after another," Gill, who chronicled the probe by Department of Justice special counsel Robert Mueller, said. The memo was released by former reporter John Solomon and is dated the day before Mueller's May 2017 appointment....

Trump's top Manhattan prosecutor unnerves legal experts with his cable TV habit

The top Manhattan prosecutor in Trump's Department of Justice is alarming legal experts with his behavior.

During a recent interview, Adam Klasfeld raised red flags over Jay Clayton, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, because of his constant appearances on CNBC. Clayton "sowed doubt" over the California elections, but that wasn't all the stunned Klasfeld, who's been a court reporter for the past two decades.

"I have never seen a U.S. attorney engage in political commentary on cable, period," Klasfeld said. "And he is now a regular fixture, Jay Clayton, on Squawk Box on CNBC, where he spouts off pro-Trump talking points regularly."...

The Trump administration has a "very serious chance" of losing a powerful weapon against judges, predicted legal journalist Adam Klasfeld.

In a recent episode of Legal AF, Klasfeld spoke about the case against Hannah Dugan, the Milwaukee circuit court judge who distracted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents while she sent the immigrant they were seeking out a side door.

"It's a shocking thing when a judge is arrested," Klasfeld reflected. "It showed the Trump administration's priorities to go after any judge that they believe is standing in the way of ICE enforcement....

'That was a lie': Expert catches Trump AG 'backpedaling significantly' in major case

Donald Trump's acting U.S. attorney general is reversing course on comments he made on a major case that has been plagued with obvious lies from the start, an expert claimed.

"Todd Blanche is already backpedaling significantly," said journalist Adam Klasfeld about Blanche and his case against the Southern Poverty Law Center.

"When he unsealed the indictment and went in a press conference, he had claimed to reporters that the SPLC's informant program was manufacturing racism," Klasfeld explained. "He went even further a little bit later...He told Laura Ingraham that there was no information that the SLPC informants program gathered that the SPLC shared with law enforcement." ...

'Alarmed': Lawmakers reportedly flooded with calls demanding 'marooned' migrant's return

Voters who used a particular phone app had one major request for their representatives: Return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to his family in the United States, new data from a San Francisco nonprofit revealed.

Abrego Garcia has been held in El Salvador's notorious Terrorism Confinement Center prison ever since he was mistakenly deported without receiving due process through a court hearing. Last week, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) traveled to El Salvador to meet with Abrego Garcia and advocate for his release. Neither President Donald Trump nor Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele would commit to securing his return to the United States.
