'What has happened to you?' MAGA fans revolt over 'goofy' Trump's new 'enemy' rant

An announcement by Donald Trump that anyone caught using “Artificial Intelligence” will be considered an “enemy” of the White House landed with a thud with his MAGA fans.

The proclamation, posted on Truth Social, warned, “The White House considers anyone that uses the term, ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

In the midst of the memes that flood the president’s every post on his social media platform, were supporters asking why the president has chosen this hill to die on, with others stunned that simple disagreement makes them an “enemy” of an administration they admire....

David Pakman humbles Trump over bizarre convention brag: 'Not even that impressive'

Progressive political analyst David Pakman picked apart a ratings boast President Donald Trump made at a White House event meant to focus on AI.

In a Wednesday episode of "The David Pakman Show," the host reviewed footage of Trump appearing alongside tech executives to announce a voluntary safety accord signed by major AI companies. When a reporter asked whether the agreement was binding, Trump said, "I think it's morally binding," and then the conversation veered away from AI entirely.

Trump instead bragged about the audience for the recent Republican midterm convention....

Scorn as rogue AI bots hit Trump agencies: 'Superintelligence just being super!'

Artificial intelligence agents built by OpenAI tampered with websites run by three federal agencies this summer, and the company didn't find out until much later, The New York Times reported Friday.

The Education Department, the Commerce Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission were all affected, according to the Times. Researchers at the AI firm Transluce said OpenAI's agents made an unsuccessful attempt to break into the Education Department's site in search of records from its civil rights office. Elsewhere, the agents used login details they turned up online to download data from the Census Bureau, part of the Commerce Department, and posted publicly available SEC data on an internet forum, the Times reported.

OpenAI confirmed the Commerce and SEC episodes and said its investigation into the Education Department incident is ongoing. The company maintained that none of the incidents amounted to a breach, while conceding its agents had behaved in ways it did not anticipate. It uncovered the episodes while reviewing earlier hacks by its technology, including a July breach of the AI start-up Hugging Face....

Stanford caught in 'perfect storm' over fabricated diversity photo

Stanford University is facing backlash after one of its offices used artificial intelligence to replace a Latino student with a Black woman in a campus dining ad photograph, CNN reported Friday.

The original 2024 photo showed biology major Billy Ramirez eating with two other students. But an altered version that appeared on a Stanford banner last week replaced Ramirez and also changed the other students’ features.

“I did feel pretty upset with the actions of the university,” Ramirez told CNN. “It’s more about my Latino identity kind of being erased, and I pride myself in being Mexican.”...

'So pathetic': Finger-wagging Trump aide torched for correcting anchor over new term

Top White House aide Sebastian Gorka sparked online ire and mockery after he wagged his finger at a Newsmax anchor for using the word "AI."

Gorka, the deputy assistant to the president and senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council, appeared on Newsmax on Thursday. During an interview, anchor Ed Henry wanted to talk about guardrails for AI when Gorka interrupted him.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," Gorka said, wagging his finger at Henry. "It's SI. As of this week, it's Super Intelligence."...

‘Truly alarming’: Backlash erupts after false report ‘almost started a war’

A bombshell report that faulty artificial intelligence nearly pushed the U.S. military into a confrontation with China sparked alarm and outrage across social media Friday.

A chatbot falsely concluded that a Chinese ship in the Middle East was carrying components for a nuclear weapons program, according to an exclusive CNN report. Military planes were already airborne and armed personnel were preparing to board the vessel when officials discovered the error.

“This is a truly alarming story,” CNN anchor Jim Sciutto posted on X....
