Lawmaker said a classified briefing didn’t bring him closer to the truth about aliens

WASHINGTON — Rep. Eric Burlison wants to know the truth about aliens. In his first term in Congress, the Missouri Republican is pushing the federal government to reveal more about unidentified aerial phenomenon, the new term for what used to be called UFOs. But in an interview with The Star after he received a classified briefing about UAPs on Friday, Burlison said he’s no closer to answering the big questions he had before entering Congress. “There’s nothing that’s been said that’s changed my worldview,” Burlison said. “I believe the veracity of the claims of the people who testified in the p......

Pentagon cancels previously approved drag show at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada

Pentagon officials have canceled an upcoming drag event at the Nellis Air Force Base in Southern Nevada, even though the family-friendly show had been previously approved by the Air Force. “Drag-u-Nellis,” first hosted at the base in 2021, brought Las Vegas-based drag performers — including former “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestants — to participate in the fun-filled evening to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month while promoting diversion and inclusivity. It's also the first carrier deployment for a Marine Corps F-35C fighter squadron. The carrier's deployment to the region comes amid rising hostile rhetoric between China and Taiwan. Rear Adm. Jeff......

Air Force intercepting record number of Russian aircraft, says Alaska-based lieutenant

U.S. jets are intercepting more Russian aircraft than ever off the West Coast, says one Alaskan-based military official. “We have certainly seen an increase in Russian activity,” according to Lt. Gen. David Krumm. “We intercepted over 60 aircraft last year ... We monitor more than that.” A report in Air Force Times says that number marks the most action that’s been recorded in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone since the demise of the Soviet Union nearly 30 years ago. That zone covers 200 nautical miles expanding into international airspace. The Anchorage Daily News wrote in 2015 that ......
