Mike Pence: latest presidential campaign deadbeat?

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Mike Pence preached from the gospel of fiscal responsibility and proposed a Constitutional amendment to limit federal spending.

“Federal spending growth is out of control and shows no signs of slowing down,” Pence's campaign website said. “Our runaway spending spree is driving inflation, making us dependent on our adversaries, and threatening our national security. It is time for a Constitutional Amendment to tie the hands of profligate politicians in Washington once and for all.”

But is Pence himself poised to join an all-star team of former presidential candidates who’ve stiffed their campaign consultants and vendors?...

'It would rattle him': Trump's longtime acquaintance shows how judge should handle him

Former President Donald Trump could be easily controlled by Judge Juan Merchan in the courtroom during the Manhattan hush money trial, his longtime acquaintance and civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton said on MSNBC — if only he's willing to throw a bit of Trump's bullying tactics back in his face.

His suggestion came in response to former RNC chair Michael Steele discussing the former president's post-courtroom rant to reporters, where he waved around a stack of clippings from right-wing news outlets and called the whole trial a sham.

"Well, that's Trump, you know?" said Steele. "Every corner that he's standing on is a stage, and he will use props. He will use whatever tool is available to him to create a narrative that he thinks best, A, positions him and, B, allows him to get away with stuff that other people ordinarily wouldn't get away with."...

Trump's longtime acquaintance assails ex-president's 'insulting' Bible 'marketing' scheme

Former President Donald Trump stirred controversy and outrage after endorsing the "God Bless the USA Bible" — a large-print copy of the Bible with America's founding documents and Lee Greenwood lyrics added to them. It remains unclear exactly how Trump may be profiting from this, although the website swears none of the proceeds go to Trump's presidential campaign.

Rev. Al Sharpton, a liberal pastor and civil rights activist who knows Trump personally, was having none of it on MSNBC.

"I listen to the pastors, including yourself," said anchor Joy Reid. "Talk to me about Trump. Trump is not a Christian. I mean, he's not a religious man at all. You know him, he was not religious."...

Watch: Lawyer who dropped Trump as a client explains why in 'first and only' interview

The lawyer who recently ditched Donald Trump's team just opened up about his reasoning in what he called "the first and only" interview he will do on the topic.

Joe Tacopina represented the former president at the initial E. Jean Carroll trial, which Trump didn't attend and ended up losing. Just before the second trial, Tacopina left and took two other attorneys with him, according to news reports.

Now, Tacopina appeared on MSNBC's PoliticsNation, where he was interviewed by American civil rights activist Al Sharpton, with whom Tacopina said he has worked extensively....

Al Sharpton’s old presidential campaign agreed to pay the government $21,250. Then it never did.

The Rev. Al Sharpton is seemingly everywhere today: he hosts an MSNBC show, conducts civil rights rallies, even meets with President Joe Biden, both in public and as a confidant.

But as Sharpton has become one of the nation’s most prominent liberal voices in the national political-media-entertainment complex, there’s one topic absent from his list of talking points: Sharpton’s old 2004 presidential campaign committee still owes the U.S. Treasury more than $21,000, according to a Raw Story review of federal records.

Sharpton’s campaign debt is the result of a 2009 agreement with the Federal Election Commission requiring Sharpton 2004 to pay federal fines for accepting excessive donations and prohibited corporate contributions....
