Some of Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters are expressing wariness over the prospect of prolonged investigations into supposed crimes committed by former President Barack Obama and other high-ranking officials.

They note that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s accusation of a “treasonous conspiracy” about the 2016 election recycles narratives put forward by conservative influencers in Trump’s first term.

They want to go straight to arrests....

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) was taken down a peg over his promotion of a long-debunked 9/11 conspiracy theory that he espoused on a far-right podcast Wednesday.

Johnson appeared on The Benny Show to discuss his desire for hearings on 9/11, specifically the destruction of Building Seven, which collapsed hours after terrorists flew jumbo jets into the Twin Towers. Johnson promoted the theory that the attack itself didn't cause Building Seven to collapse.

"There are a host of questions that I want, and I will be asking, quite honestly, now that my eyes have been opened up," Johnson told The Benny Show's podcast. ...

Former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren came under fire on Saturday for purportedly trying to "bury her role" in the spreading of a Donald Trump-based conspiracy theory.

Van Susteren, more recently host for the conservative Newsmax TV, took to social media after Judge Juan Merchan informed the parties in Trump's criminal case that a suspicious Facebook comment appeared to suggest the jury had been corrupted. The so-called internet troll at the center of the scandal later admitted it was all made up.

But before that admission, Van Susteren presented a printed copy of Merchan's notice....

Fox News medical commentator Dr. Marc Siegel pushed back against a right-wing conspiracy theory claiming NFL player Billy Price got a blood clot because he was vaccinated for COVID-19.

During a Monday Fox News segment on Price's blood clot, Siegel addressed the theory.

"COVID definitely has increased the risk of blood clots directly, especially early in the pandemic," the doctor explained. "And everyone out there asks about the vaccine."...

The explosion of a conspiracy theory that the Justice Department, or possibly President Joe Biden himself, ordered an assassination against former President Donald Trump, is worth deconstructing, wrote former FBI Special Agent Asha Rangappa and House January 6 Committee investigator Tom Joscelyn in an analysis for Just Security.

The claim stems from a small section in documents about the Mar-a-Lago classified documents search two years ago, which details the authorization of deadly force by FBI agents, which led some far-right lawmakers like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) to suggest the agents were instructed to shoot Trump.

But in fact, this was quickly debunked by Justice Department officials and legal experts — the deadly force language is boilerplate that goes in all federal search warrants, and was also used in the search of President Joe Biden's premises in his own classified documents investigation....

Former President Donald Trump has turned his anger on the state of Indiana, accusing officials there of conspiring to rig the election to help former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley defeat him — and state officials there are unnerved by it, reported Politico.

Moreover, said the report, they fear this could morph from a "bizarre subplot" of the primary season into a test run for Trump to once again try to obstruct election results — something he did in 2020, which led to multiple criminal indictments.

Essentially, Trump — relying on claims by his close ally in the state, Rep. Jim Banks — has been claiming that Haley does not qualify for the Indiana ballot because she missed the deadline to collect enough signatures. However, he appears to be confused; while the signatures deadline has already passed, the deadline to file the collected signatures comes later, and Haley is reportedly still on track to make that deadline with the required number of signatures....
