'Why would I do the debate against Kamala Harris on that network?' Trump raises new doubts

'Why would I do the debate against Kamala Harris on that network?' Trump raises new doubts

Donald Trump late on Sunday evening raised fresh doubts about whether or not he will debate Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump, who initially refused to debate Harris on ABC and then eventually gave in to the deal that had been reached between Trump and President Joe Biden, over the weekend brought forth fresh concerns about the already planned event.

The former president took to Truth Social, writing, "I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl’s(K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?" ...

'The terms did not specify Biden': Pollster blows up key Trump talking point over debate

Donald Trump says he only agreed to debate President Joe Biden, and not Vice President Kamala Harris, on ABC, but the terms of the actual debate agreement didn't make that specification, according to one pollster.

Trump over the weekend declared his refusal to debate Harris, who has now clinched the Democratic nomination, on the network, saying he would instead insist on a Fox News debate with an audience. For her part, Harris has said she will show up at the previously agreed debate, whether the former president attends or not.

Trump claims Biden's decision to drop out warrants a new negotiation with Harris' team over the new terms of their debate, but that's not quite true, according to Democratic pollster and strategist Matt McDermott Saturday. ...

Trump selling 'Anybody Anytime Anyplace' shirt despite attempt to change debate terms

Donald Trump is currently selling a shirt that says "Anybody Anytime Anyplace" despite his ongoing efforts to renegotiate terms of a debate after President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race.

Trump over the weekend said he wouldn't attend a previously agreed upon debate on ABC, and instead said he would insist it be on Fox News. He also suggested he would change other debate terms, including adding an in-room audience, citing a new nominee on the side of the Democratic party.

A conservative was cornered on the debate issue on Saturday, and he insisted that the new Democratic candidate warranted a new negotiation. ...

'Why not do it?' Conservative cornered on CNN over 'terrified' Trump changing debate terms

A Republican was put on the defense on Saturday as a Democratic insider put him on the spot over Donald Trump's decision to back out of a previously agreed upon debate on ABC, in favor of a Fox News appearance.

Appearing on CNN, Democratic strategist Maria Cardona cornered Republican strategist Alex Vogel over Trump's decision to make a new plan for a debate on Fox News. The former president has argued that, because President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, a renegotiation of the terms is warranted.

When asked about Trump's motives for the attempt to change venue and other terms, Cardona described Trump as "terrified."...

'You want to walk into that buzzsaw?' Trump taunted by ex-GOP official over Harris debate

'You want to walk into that buzzsaw?' Trump taunted by ex-GOP official over Harris debate

During an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele laughed at the possibility that Donald Trump may be forced to debate Vice President Kamala Harris as her candidacy as his 2024 presidential opponent appears to have him on the defensive.

Speaking with fill-in host Jonathan Lemire, such a face-off was labeled as the "felon versus the prosecutor."

On Thursday, Trump seemed to reject the idea of locking in previously agreed-upon dates for one or more debates, with his campaign issuing a statement that explained, "There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party - namely Barack Hussein Obama - that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone 'better.' Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds."

With former President Barack Obama having endorsed Harris early Friday morning, the ground has now shifted and Steele laughed at the prospect of Trump being wiped out by Harris on national TV.

"I look at this race right now, and I don't see a world in which Donald Trump mans up and debates Kamala Harris," Steele exclaimed."

"The felon is not going to debate the prosecutor— that's just not going to happen," he continued. "When the question comes around about his 34 felony convictions, what do you think she's going to do? I mean, really? You want to walk into that buzzsaw in the conversation? You can throw the border all day long, but you're mincemeat on everything else. That's what you're seeing now on the campaign."

Trump goads Biden to redeem himself: Debate this week — and beat me in 18 holes

Trump goads Biden to redeem himself: Debate this week — and beat me in 18 holes

At former President Donald Trump's rally on Tuesday at his Doral golf club in South Florida, he took another victory lap over the CNN debate with President Joe Biden last month — and laid down a new challenge: Accept another debate invitation for this week and prove he is capable of the job.

"This time it will be man to man, no moderators, no holds barred," Trump said.

He did not explain how a debate would work with no moderators....
