With all of Donald Trump's drum-beating about Canada, a Toronto Blue Jays fan wearing a red cap with the message "Canada is not for sale" found himself an unlikely hero, according to The New York Times.

Dan Begley, a 70-year-old from a Toronto suburb, said he received compliments on his headwear before a Rogers Centre stadium usher cited him for violating a rule against displaying political slogans.

“The usher approached me and said that they have a policy against political statements,” Begley said. “I wasn’t even sure what she was talking about, but I realized it was my hat, and she said I would have to remove it or turn it backward.”...

A Democratic lawmaker praised the Trump administration on CNN Tuesday for backing Ukraine over Russia following news that a 30-day interim ceasefire agreement had been reached.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the announcement from Saudi Arabia following eight hours of negotiations with Ukraine. He said the next step was to get Russian buy-in, "and we hope that they'll say yes."

Ontario Premier Doug Ford apologized to the American people Tuesday after floating the idea of cutting off the energy supply flowing in from Canada.

Canada is considering the drastic move now that President Donald Trump's 25 percent tariffs against goods coming in from Canada have gone into effect.

On Tuesday, Ford told CNN's John Berman, "This is unnecessary and we do have to retaliate. And I apologize to the American people. It's not you; it's your president that's causing this problem. We're the number one customer in the world to the United States.We had a great relationship, and want to continue on with that relationship, but I will use every tool in our toolbox to send a message to President Trump that this is the wrong thing to do." ...

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, shrugged off the loss of a $100 million deal on Monday with a two-word response: "Oh well."

Musk posted the retort on his social media platform X following news that Ontario Premier Doug Ford was scrapping the province's deal with Starlink just hours before a 25% tariff on Canadian goods was due to go into effect.

The province partnered with Musk's satellite company in November with a goal of bringing "high-speed internet to thousands of homes in remote and rural communities across Ontario," CTV News reported. ...
