Donald Trump is used to getting away with rule violations, even in a court setting, but those days are over, according to a former prosecutor.

Trump spent Thursday in court for jury selection in the former president's upcoming trial for allegations that he broke the law when he purportedly made hush money payments to hide an affair with an adult film star ahead of the 2016 election, and then covered it up by disguising the payment in his financial records.

A top House Democrat’s campaign committee was slapped with a $3,500 fine over a filing mistake made as the group grappled with a consultant’s death, according to Federal Election Commission records and a source close to the campaign.

The committee raising funds for U.S. Rep Jim Clyburn (D-SC) mistakenly filed a financial disclosure report in October 2022 that didn't include about $62,100 in disbursements, according to a letter from the FEC.

New York (AFP) - US securities officials fined Boeing $200 million over the aviation giant's misleading assurances about the safety of the 737 MAX airplane following two deadly crashes, regulators announced Thursday. Boeing agreed to the penalty to settle charges it "negligently violated the antifraud provisions" of US securities laws, the Securities and Exchange Commission said in a statement, saying the company and its leader "put profits over people."
