Trump accused by prosecutor of withholding information during $464M civil fraud trial

New York Attorney General Letitia James accused former President Donald Trump of withholding information during his civil fraud trial and demanded more information about former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg's recent perjury plea, court records show.

James filed Thursday a letter to Justice Arthur Engoron requesting a monitor be allowed to investigate the matter, citing an email about the Trump Tower triplex — which was reported to be three times its actual size — the Attorney General says she never received.

"We have already raised multiple times the prospect that Defendants have withheld relevant and responsive information," the letter states. "We ask that the Monitor be directed to investigate certain issues surrounding the recent perjury plea by defendant Allen Weisselberg."...

'One more chunk of flesh': Trump attorney laments latest smackdown by court

Christina Bobb, an attorney for Donald Trump, insisted that the former president did "not even consider himself" and possible gains from hyping the legal charges against him. She also lamented a recent legal setback.

During an interview on Newsmax, host Michael Grimm asked Bobb how Trump kept his spirits up despite indictments and lawsuits. Bobb suggested Trump was selfless.

"His spirits could not be higher," she insisted. "He's amazing. I've never seen anyone able to ward off the attacks and the threats that he has and continue to keep going." ...

'My kind of petty': Prosecutor Letitia James trolls Trump with interest he's incurring

The amount Donald Trump owes for his fraudulent business practices goes up every single day, and New York Attorney General Letitia James won't let him forget that fact.

Trump forcefully fought against the allegations by James' office, which accused the former president of committing civil fraud by misrepresenting the value of his assets to get better deals on bank loans. Yet in the end, Justice Arthur Engoron found Trump, his adult sons, and his organization liable for fraud, and ordered them to pay hundreds of millions of dollars

'The value goes up' as soon as Trump's name 'goes down' from buildings: expert

New York state Attorney General Letitia James will get the money former President Donald Trump owes after the more than $350 million fine levied against him in the civil business fraud case, Watergate lawyer Jill Wine-Banks told MSNBC anchor Joy Reid on Wednesday — even if she has to repossess his buildings and tear the name TRUMP off the side of them.

In fact, she added, that would probably make it easier to recoup what Trump owes.

"Let's talk more about Tish James," said Reid. "She's the one saying not only did she beat Trump in the civil fraud case, but she says give me your properties. You're either going to pay or give me your properties. What do you make of that?"...

Trump Organization monitor may have just uncovered $48 million smoking gun: expert

The monitor overseeing the Trump Organization during the civil fraud suit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James has uncovered a mysterious loan that could unravel Trump's legal position, wrote law expert Lisa Rubin for MSNBC's MaddowBlog on Wednesday.

James is alleging in the suit that Trump and his two adult sons have systematically misstated the value of their properties to manipulate tax balances and loan interest rates. She is seeking $370 million in fines and the dissolution of the Trump Organization; presiding Judge Arthur Engoron has already partially ruled for her on the merits in summary judgment. His ruling on damages is expected to come any day now.

'He's going to clobber them': Legal expert says fraud ruling will be 'major hit' to Trump

Former President Donald Trump is going to get "clobbered" in the impending civil fraud judgment sought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, former federal prosecutor Harry Litman predicted on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" Tuesday.

This comes shortly after Trump was already ordered to fork over $83.3 million in damages in the defamation case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll — and the damages in this case could be even bigger.

"What are you going to be looking for?" asked anchor Alicia Menendez....
