'Deeply sick' Trump blasted by Gavin Newsom for controversial fundraising choice

Donald Trump has been criticized by Governor of California Gavin Newsom for a controversial fundraising choice.

The president sent an email to his mailing list and advertised the final few spots on the National Security Briefing council. Trump has been criticized often in the past by Newsom for fleecing his MAGA supporters of their cash. But this recent email has irked Newsom's team, who believe the president has been grossly disrespectful.

The email from Trump reads, "VERY FEW SPOTS REMAINING! CLAIM YOUR SPOT. These final spots are reserved for my strongest supporters (YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!). This is no ordinary membership."

"As a National Security Briefing Member, you'll receive my private national security briefings, unfiltered updates on the threats facing America." Attached to this email is an image of Trump wearing a USA hat and saluting.

The image attached to the email is from an appearance Trump made at the transfer of the Iran war dead, with seven US soldiers so far killed in the conflict.

Gavin Newsom's team denounced the use of the image as a tool for fundraising. The team wrote on X, "Donald Trump is fundraising off of dead soldiers. He is a deeply SICK and DISGUSTING MAN!"

Newsom went on to repost the Press Office post from his account. The Governor of California has hit out at the president frequently over the last few weeks, with Newsom and his team taking jabs at the president.

It comes a day after Newsom highlighted government lies and myths, which Trump did not want people to find out. Newsom's Press Office wrote, "Trump launched military strikes on Iran with no plan for the fallout, and Americans are paying on average $0.56 per gallon more at the pump. Here are the facts Trump hopes you never see."

Included in those facts the president had tried to obscure is an explanation of how gas tax holidays worked and agreements that were offering protection to drivers in California.

Gavin Newsom calls out Trump for 'increasing bills on seniors': 'Where's the oversight?'

Gavin Newsom has accused the Donald Trump administration of working harder to cover up its shortcomings than actually fix problems affecting the US.

The Press Office for the Governor of California took to X and made a series of posts lambasting the president and his team, which Newsom believes are working hard on all the wrong things. Newsom has been openly critical of Trump's response to rising oil prices, dubbing the president "Putin's good little boy" in a previous scathing post to the social media site.

A post from Gavin Newsom's Press Office reads, "The Trump administration working overtime to justify why their actions raised gasoline prices nationwide. Affordability is a 'hoax' in their book."

A separate post from Newsom reads, "The Trump administration is rewarding insurers for increasing bills on seniors! Where’s the oversight? FRAUD, WASTE, ABUSE?!?!"

Newsom's team has since broken down the cost of war in Iran on the US, and what the money used to bomb the Middle Eastern country could have been used for.

The team wrote, "Trump’s war is costing about $2 BILLION a day. That’s the same as: 270,000 Pell Grants helping students afford college. A full year of rent for 143,000 families. Nearly 4 years of the 988 suicide crisis hotline."

"3+ months of WIC nutrition for moms and babies. 29 days of breakfast and lunch for every public school kid in America. All the humanitarian aid the U.S. gives the UN in a year. A year of free preschool for 110,000 low-income kids. A month of SNAP for nearly 10 million Americans. A month of Medicaid for nearly 3 million Americans."

Gavin Newsom reveals 'facts Trump hopes you never see' in tirade against president

California Governor Gavin Newsom has ripped into four so-called myths surrounding the rise in oil and gas prices in the United States.

A decision by Donald Trump to join Israel in striking Iran has seen oil prices skyrocket. The war with Iran has worried experts and economists as they remain unsure when prices will drop, though the president has said the costs will stabilize shortly. Newsom's Press Office has since taken to X and criticized four aspects of the price hike, debunking several myths with a post to the social media platform.

Newsom's Press Office wrote, "Trump launched military strikes on Iran with no plan for the fallout, and Americans are paying on average $0.56 per gallon more at the pump. Here are the facts Trump hopes you never see."

The post includes four images, one of which debunks the myth that repealing gas taxes lowers prices. Newsom's team explained, "Gas tax holidays often become windfalls for oil companies, not savings for drivers. As seen in Florida, where companies pocketed much of the benefits."

Newsom's team also pointed out their protections for drivers, which were put in place by the current Governor of California. The team cited both the SBX1-2 and the ABX1-2 as agreements that brought in "transparency and oversight rules for oil companies."

It comes after a brag from Trump's administration received further criticism from Newsom and his team.

The Rapid Response X account published a photo of a missile with the words "no mercy" written on top. A brief statement was also issued by the official government account, reading, "We have Only Just Begun to Fight."

Newsom's team wrote, "FYI this is costing the American people an extra $1.5billion at the pump this week." Newsom's team had previously criticized the government's rhetoric around the Iran war, with oil price hikes deemed an unforgivable consequence of Trump's war with Iran.

Further posts from Newsom's Press Team on Tuesday and earlier this week have suggested the president launched a strike on Iran to distract from controversies within his administration.

A picture of a graph showing the search history for the Jeffrey Epstein files has also been shared by Newsom's Press Office. The team added, "Trump's motives for his decisions over the last 2 weeks in one chart."

Trump's 'no mercy' brag gets hit by Gavin Newsom reality check

A post from the Department of Defense has been criticized by Gavin Newsom, who says the statement fails to note the cost of war on the US.

The Rapid Response X account published a photo of a missile with the words "no mercy" written on top. A brief statement was also issued by the official government account, reading, "We have Only Just Begun to Fight." The statement has been roundly criticized, with the Governor of California's Press Office sharing how much the war with Iran is costing the American people.

Newsom's team also called out the government waste left behind by the former Department of Homeland Security team. Kristi Noem was removed from her post earlier this week, though Newsom pointed out there had been an influx of government waste under her time in office.

They wrote, "GOVERNMENT WASTE ALERT: The Trump Admin bought thousands of cars, including Mustangs, and wrapped them in a tacky design. They're collecting DUST in storage!

Ongoing strikes against Iran affected the price of oil, which has since surpassed $100 a barrel, per the Associated Press. This spike in crude oil has since been mocked by Governor Newsom, with a series of posts highlighting the economic trouble.

One post reads, "What part of the Trump Golden Era of affordability plan is this?" Another reads, "We already have long TSA lines because of Donald Trump. Are Trump gas lines coming soon, too?"

Newsom bombards 'Putin's good little boy' Trump as he warns US 'gas lines' are days away

Gavin Newsom grilled Donald Trump over a massive spike in oil prices — and suggested it goes against the president's tough stance on economic success.

The governor of California's team made several X posts mocking Trump and his administration over the weekend. One post reads, "What part of the Trump Golden Era of affordability plan is this?" Another reads, "We already have long TSA lines because of Donald Trump. Are Trump gas lines coming soon, too?"

A third post suggested Trump needed a distraction from the turmoil of his administration, and that a spike in oil prices would do just that. On February 7, the account posted, "Trump needs a distraction. Things aren't going well for him. Which country is he going to bomb or take over next?"

The X account has since quoted the February 7 post and added, "The answer was Iran."

Newsom has previously ripped into Trump and his team for an oil-related trade with Russia. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed a trade deal between Russia and India, orchestrated by the U.S.

Bessent's statement, posted to X, reads, "President Trump’s energy agenda has resulted in oil and gas production reaching the highest levels ever recorded.

"To enable oil to keep flowing into the global market, the Treasury Department is issuing a temporary 30-day waiver to allow Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil. This deliberately short-term measure will not provide significant financial benefit to the Russian government as it only authorizes transactions involving oil already stranded at sea.

"India is an essential partner of the United States, and we fully anticipate that New Delhi will ramp up purchases of U.S. oil. This stop-gap measure will alleviate pressure caused by Iran’s attempt to take global energy hostage."

Newsom replied to the news by dubbing Trump "Putin's good little boy."

Gavin Newsom rips into Trump's latest pro-Russia move: 'Putin's good little boy'

Gavin Newsom's Press Office criticized the recently announced deal between the US, Russia, and India to alleviate the oil shortage.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed earlier today (March 6) that a trade deal to purchase oil already stranded at sea had been reached with Russia. His statement, posted to X, reads, "President Trump’s energy agenda has resulted in oil and gas production reaching the highest levels ever recorded.

"India is an essential partner of the United States, and we fully anticipate that New Delhi will ramp up purchases of U.S. oil. This stop-gap measure will alleviate pressure caused by Iran’s attempt to take global energy hostage."

The Governor of California's press office has since mocked this deal and denounced both Bessent and Trump for engaging in trade with Russia.

A post from the Gavin Newsom Press Office on X reads, "Trump waives the Russia oil ban! Putin’s good little boy." Attached is an image of Putin patting the heads of two children, with Trump and Bessent's faces edited on.

Mockery of the president and his administration follows Newsom's claim that Trump knows the midterm elections will be a blowout for the Republican Party.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, the Governor of California once more repeated his assessment of the midterms - that the GOP will lose massively because of Trump. But the projected wins of the Democratic Party, while not guaranteed, will be aided by a move Trump pulled last year.

He told Kimmel, "Trump is a historic president. Historically unpopular. He's going to get crushed, shellacked, in the midterms. He is. He's toast. And he knows it.

"Why else did he call Greg Abbot, saying he's 'entitled' to five seats in a mid-decade redistricting? They, of course, obliged in Texas. What Trump thought would follow was maybe a conversation about writing an op-ed in California to try to win the argument as they're consolidating power.

Trump knows he will be 'crushed' in midterms — and one sly move proves it: Dem gov

A pre-midterm move from Donald Trump proves the president knows he will not fare well in the elections, Gavin Newsom has claimed.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, the Governor of California once more repeated his assessment of the midterms - that the GOP will lose massively because of Trump. But the projected wins of the Democratic Party, while not guaranteed, will be aided by a move Trump pulled last year.

Newsom said the party and representatives must "fight fire with fire" when it comes to Trump, and a redistricting success under the Governor of California came as a result of the president's attempt to rezone Texas ahead of the midterm elections.

This move, Newsom believes, highlights the shortcomings of the Trump administration and his fear of losing the Senate majority.

"Instead, we decided to redraw the lines and over a 90-day period raised $120million, and we kicked his a-- in November and redrew the lines. I know we're all prone to a little hyperbole. This is not hyperbolic.

"You saw what happened on January 6, tried to wreck the country, light democracy on fire, dialed up for 11,000, 12,000 votes in Fulton County. That's exactly what he's doing all across the United States.

"Not just as it relates to redistricting, trying to nationalize the election, trying to take those voting roles and purge voters, decide who can vote, and who cannot. Ask the folks in Fulton County what he's just done. It's happening in plain sight."

It comes after Kimmel pitched Trump an appearance at the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner, which the talk show veteran has hosted in the past.

He said, "Can you imagine? You, me, the commissioner of the FCC [Federal Communications Commission], all at a table together? Think of the ratings. I'll even throw in an award. You like awards. I'll give you a brand new award. The Corresponding."

'Wow': Gavin Newsom mocks Trump over record-breaking stat showing 'American dream is dead'

Gavin Newsom has ripped into Donald Trump after it was found that the United States has hit an embarrassing new record.

The president's State of the Union address may have broken the record for the longest speech of its type, but the Governor of California's Press Office observed another poor statistic that has happened on Trump's watch. A post to X from the Governor Newsom Press Office account highlighted the dwindling number of Americans remaining in the US.

Newsom's team wrote, "WOW. Americans are leaving the USA in record numbers! Under Trump, the American Dream is DEAD!" A screenshot of the Wall Street Journal's coverage is attached to the post from Newsom's team.

The feature, which notes the record numbers and reasons for so many US citizens leaving for below the border, former Stalinist states, and wider parts of Europe. The move has been dubbed the "Donald Dash", though the WSJ notes the rise has been ongoing for some time.

Drew Hinshaw and Joe Parkinson wrote, "Some commentators have labeled this wave of American emigrants the 'Donald Dash' since numbers have spiked under President Trump’s second term. But the phenomenon has been building for years—fed by the rise of remote work, mounting living costs and an appetite for foreign lifestyles that feel within reach, especially in Europe.

"The U.S. saw 675,000 deportations and 2.2 million 'self-deportations' last year, according to data from the Department of Homeland Security.

"A Wall Street Journal analysis of 15 countries providing full or partial 2025 data showed that at least 180,000 Americans joined them—a number likely to be far higher when other countries report full statistics."

Further analysis found some applications for European VISAs, particularly those to Britain, are at their highest in over 20 years.

"If there was any thought that this was a fleeting pandemic-era experiment of laptop nomads logging in from distant shores, data hints at its longevity," the pair wrote. "The U.S. government has a months-long backlog of Americans asking to renounce their citizenship, either to secure a foreign passport or to avoid taxation of their earnings abroad.

"In 2024, requests jumped 48% and likely outpaced that in 2025, immigration firms say. Americans are applying for British citizenship at the highest rate since records began in 2004: some 6,600 in the year to March 2025. They are securing Irish passports at a record pace: 31,825 in 2024, and an estimated 40,000 last year."

Gavin Newsom hits Trump with schoolyard taunts in new Kennedy Center scrap

Gavin Newsom ripped into Donald Trump during a swear word-laden tirade at an event promoting his autobiography.

The Governor of California held no punches when going after the president, suggesting the acts in office of the 47th POTUS do little to unite people. Speaking to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens at the event promoting his newly published memoir, Young Man in a Hurry, Newsom quoted former House Speaker Sam Rayburn in his assessment of Trump.

"Breaking things is not strength," he said, with a reference to the Kennedy Center, the Washington, DC, cultural hub that Trump took over — and then closed down. "Tearing things down, that's not strength. That Rayburn building, I don't know if anyone- Sam Rayburn had a great quote. He said, 'Any', forgive the language, 'jacka-- can tear down a barn, but it takes a skilled carpenter to build one.'

"Tearing things down is not strength. Trump is not a builder. He's a jacka--." The clip of Newsom's comment has since been posted to his X account, along with a selection of other comments made by the governor at the event.

Newsom has made his loathing of Trump clear in recent weeks, with his press office on X calling out the president for failing to give US citizens a tariff profit check.

The DOGE dividend featured in planning documents written up during Elon Musk's time in the government, with the Department of Government Efficiency hoping to cut so much in-house expenditure that they could go on to give some money to taxpayers. This never came to be, though the team behind the governor has not forgotten.

Also missing, aside from the DOGE dividend, is an update on tariff rebates, which were promised by the president's team when he introduced tariffs to the economic plan.

A post to the Newsom Press Office X account reads, "Confirmed our tariff check three times in Trump’s fundraising emails. Where’s the check? Where’s the DOGE dividend?"

Attached to their post is a screenshot of the Trump tariff check, with three "confirm check here" buttons on a page with a picture of Trump holding a stack of bills.

Veteran polling analyst warns GOP of no-win scenario: 'They've done quite badly'

GOP infighting may pave the way to an inevitable Democratic Party victory at the 2028 elections, a veteran pollster has claimed.

Nate Silver suggested that the party merely needs a reasonable candidate, and they may have their share of choices. In his Substack column, Silver noted Gavin Newsom, who had not yet lost an election, and former Vice President Kamala Harris could be safe options for the Democratic Party at the next presidential election.

This choice is contingent, he says, on the in-fighting which is bound to come from the Republican Party finding a suitable replacement for Donald Trump. The president will leave office in 2029, but finding a potential successor has proven tricky. JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz could all mount their own bids for the GOP leadership.

Silver wrote, "We don’t make endorsements, and in fact, my prediction of what Democrats will do isn’t that correlated with what I think they should do if they want to maximize their chances of reclaiming the White House.

"Don’t get me wrong, I think any basically reasonable Democrat could win, as I discussed in the Times story." Silver, who spoke with the New York Times earlier this week, suggested the Democratic Party has the advantage of being "out of power" during a difficult time for the US.

He added, "I expect Republicans to have a lot of trouble agreeing on a candidate who is not Donald Trump. They’ve done quite badly in the Trump era in nonpresidential elections."

Silver went on to explain his thoughts in the Substack piece posted earlier today, adding, "Still, based on his electoral track record, I also don’t think Newsom would be a particularly good nominee as compared to someone like Ruben Gallego, Raphael Warnock, Andy Beshear, Gretchen Whitmer, or Josh Shapiro — and honestly, a lot of others, too."

Silver has, despite suggesting any reasonable candidate could sweep the elections in 2028, urged caution on backing Newsom. He added, "Isn’t Gavin Newsom a winner? He certainly looks like one — and I’ll grant that his decision to put a partisan redistricting initiative on the ballot last year was a big success.

"Polls tend to show that Democratic voters see Newsom as 'electable'. Indeed, Newsom has never lost an election, having advanced up the Golden State ladder from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to Governor of California. But you know who else had never lost an election prior to 2024? Kamala Harris.

Yep, that’s right. Granted, Harris probably would have lost most if not all of the Democratic primaries and caucuses she entered had she remained on the ballot in her 2020 nomination campaign.

"But technically speaking, it’s true: Harris twice won elections for San Francisco District Attorney, twice for Attorney General, once for U.S. Senate, and once for vice president — until she lost every swing state to Trump."
