WASHINGTON – Facing growing budget pressure and an increasingly skeptical public, Congress's appetite to continue funding the war in Afghanistan appears to be diminishing.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) called on President Barack Obama and the top general in Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus, to "loosen" the rules of engagement put in place to lessen civilian casualties.
