President Joe Biden sat for a 30-minute interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, during which he took responsibility for his failure to land at the debate in Atlanta the previous week, insisted that he had the health and stamina to carry on the campaign and defeat former President Donald Trump a second time, and was skeptical of the polling currently showing him down in the race. He added as well that only God could send him a sign to end his campaign.

Commenters across social media and on all sides of the political spectrum had varied reactions to the interview.

Republican lawmakers, naturally, proclaimed it further evidence of Biden's unfitness to lead. "The Stephanopoulos interview has made one thing clear: Joe Biden is completely unfit to serve as president for the next 6 months, much less the next 4 years. This is exactly what the 25th Amendment was meant for," wrote Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL)....

Rep. Nancy Mace, a Republican, recently made headlines with a confrontational interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos. She then went on a warpath against him, suggesting he "rape shamed" the lawmaker.

Mace has doubled down with that assertion on Saturday. While Stephanopoulos merely pressed her on her seemingly unconditional support for a former president who has been found liable for sexual assault by a jury, Mace has said the interviewer targeted her as a survivor of rape.

"Last night I received a serious threat and the individual is now in custody. Our family wants to thank law enforcement for acting quickly," Mace wrote. "Since the ABC News interview where George Stephanopolous [sic] rape shamed me - we’ve received a barrage of threatening messages and calls from all around the country - all week. Neither political violence nor the threat of it is ever going to be tolerated." ...

Donald Trump issued a response to the Oscars Sunday night, and he claimed the awards are not given to those who deserve them.

Trump has a history of lashing out at awards ceremonies. This time his first target was Jimmy Kimmel, who was recently sued by booted and indicted congressman George Santos.

For his response, Trump took to his own social media site, Truth Social....

U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on Sunday hit back at ABC News host George Stephanopoulos after a combative interview, but she made one faulty connection that was blown up by a legal analyst.

Mace, who appeared on Stephanopoulos' ABC show earlier in the day, accused the former Bill Clinton White House aide of "rape shaming" her for asking about her support for Trump, who was found liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll.

After the interview, she took to social media to share her perspective. She also lobbed direct attacks at the host....
