GOP senators rip Trump's 'bad form' splurge with swipe at Kristi Noem: report

Republican senators are turning on President Donald Trump's government-funded ads glorifying himself, with one pointing to an unexpected source of funding.

In a Thursday article for The Bulwark, Joe Perticone reported pushback from multiple GOP senators on ads that have been airing during NFL games and feature Trump's voice promising supporters a reckoning with his enemies. In one ad, Trump strides down a hallway as he vows to "demolish the deep state" and "rout the fake news media."

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) flatly rejected President Donald Trump's government-funded ads glorifying himself, and when asked whether the president is permitted to run the spots, he answered with a blunt "no," according to a report. Cornyn then took a jab at former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem while floating a theory about the source of the money....

Trump's war running out of steam as Republicans' 'willful ignorance is starting to fade'

Trump's war running out of steam as Republicans' 'willful ignorance is starting to fade'

Republicans in competitive races are increasingly breaking with President Donald Trump over the Iran war as soaring fuel prices squeeze voters.

In a Thursday piece for The Bulwark, Joe Perticone argued that GOP lawmakers had spent months seemingly determined to ignore the spike in gas prices since the conflict began. "Their willful ignorance is starting to fade," he wrote.

Perticone reported that a growing number of Republicans running in battleground House and Senate contests are distancing themselves from the president on the war, pointing to pain at the pump as a chief reason. Gasoline averaged $4.48 a gallon nationally as of Thursday, while diesel has topped $6.50 and hit $7 or $8 in some states....

Dismayed GOP laments Trump's new campaign against Senate leader: 'Just exhausting'

Republicans are responding with exasperation and dismay to President Donald Trump's shot at one of their party leaders, per reports.

Politico reported that GOP senators are standing up to Trump's recent comments, taking issue with Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and his inability to pass the SAVE America Act, a proof-of-citizenship voting bill touted by Trump.

At a rally in Georgia on Wednesday, Trump told attendees to "call John Thune" while complaining that "the Senate is a place you send things when you want them to die," and "We're not going to take this any longer. We're not going to take it. I'm trying to be nice," according to Politico. ...

Trump rages against four 'Republican losers' who checked his Iran war powers

Trump rages against four 'Republican losers' who checked his Iran war powers

Trump attacked the Republican senators who crossed party lines and voted to check his Iran war powers.

In a late-night Truth Social post, Trump claimed he had "Iran on the 'ropes,' ready to go down for the fall, willing to give us practically anything, and for the first time in decades, respecting the hell out of the United States and its president."

He then set his sights on "Four Republican Losers" who "voted with the Dumocrats." He was referring to GOP senators Rand Paul from Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski from Alaska, Susan Collins from Maine, and Bill Cassidy from Louisiana....
