An Orangevale man pleaded not guilty Wednesday after he was arrested last week on suspicion of detonating an improvised explosive device and planting several others across El Dorado and Sacramento counties. Benjamin Cunha, 41, was arrested last Friday after an investigation by the FBI, California Highway Patrol and El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the CHP and Sheriff’s Office said in statements. A congressional staffer has reportedly been fired after footage featuring him and another man seemingly having sex in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill was leaked online. The eight-second clip was published by the Daily Caller alongside an article penned by Henry Rodgers, who reported that the video was initially shared in a group chat for gay men in politics. The video appears to show a pair of men copulating in Hart 216, the same room where the 9/11 commission hearings were held and former FBI Director James Comey delivered testimony about Donald Trump in 2017, according to Pol......

The federal government is fixing a mistake that excluded members of the U.S. armed services who worked at Sept. 11 crash sites and came down with a 9/11 illness from getting pivotal health coverage, the New York Daily News has learned. Additions to the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act will now allow soldiers and sailors, other Department of Defense personnel, and federal employees who helped sift through the rubble at the Pentagon and the destroyed remains of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to enroll in the World Trade Center Health Program. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Bobby Singh carefully read the details contained in the federal indictment made public this week alleging a plot by the Indian government to assassinate Sikh activists in the U.S. Then Singh, a Sacramento State student and local leader in the movement to create an independent Sikh state, came upon an especially chilling detail: One of the targets, an unnamed person, was in California. “Could this be me?” he wondered. Singh has good reason to consider that possibility. Like many Sikh activists in the Central Valley and Bay Area, Singh’s life has been a surreal mix of sadnes......

Adams has said he traveled to Turkey up to seven times, but he’s offered little detail about what what he did there — nor is it clear exactly what the feds are looking for in this aspect of their probe. While details of four of Adams’ Turkey trips have been reported in the media to date, a fifth planned trip whose details have not been previous......

A Mercer Island synagogue was vandalized overnight with anti-Israel graffiti, marking the latest affront to Jewish institutions in the Seattle area, officials said Wednesday. Herzl-Ner Tamid was defaced with a number of spray-painted phrases related to Israel, which has been at war with Hamas since Oct. 7. The FBI, which initially responded Wednesday morning, is leading the investigation, according to Mercer Island police. The synagogue said leaders are taking the incident very seriously and there are no credible threats of violence. “Despite this adversity, our commitment to leading fulfilled......
