A breach of the Pentagon’s personnel database exposed Social Security numbers and other sensitive information about current and former military personnel, raising fears about how the data could be used.

Unauthorized users gained access to a Defense Manpower Data Center server last October, but the Pentagon did not discover or fix the problem until July, according to a notification letter reviewed by CNN.

The Pentagon said in its letter dated this month that it “does not have any indications of misuse” of the information exposed from the breach....

An OpenAI test model reportedly hacked its way into another company, sparking major concerns among the tech community, CNN reported on Wednesday.

Donald Trump's political campaign became the subject of mockery on Saturday after reporting being "hacked" by someone using a commonly used email tactic known as a "phishing" scam.

The Trump campaign reportedly told Politico that the team experienced a hack after the news outlet started receiving what appeared to be internal communications from an anonymous individual by email. Among the items the outlet says it received was a "dossier" on Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance.

The campaign blamed "foreign sources" for the release, but declined to give details. The internet, however, was rife with speculation. ...

Donald Trump's campaign has reported being hacked after Politico received a "dossier on J.D. Vance" from an anonymous account, the news agency reported on Saturday.

Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt flagged the news on social media, saying, "Trump's campaign says it has been hacked."

"The acknowledgment came after POLITICO began receiving emails from an anonymous account with documents from inside Trump’s operation, including a dossier on JD Vance," Isenstadt wrote Saturday. ...
