'Not your show': Fox's Hannity mocked for demanding CNN not be allowed to fact-check Trump

'Not your show': Fox's Hannity mocked for demanding CNN not be allowed to fact-check Trump

Fox News' Sean Hannity has a particular demand for how the upcoming CNN-hosted debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in June should be handled: moderators shouldn't be allowed to fact-check Trump during answer blocks.

"I would add that moderators' mics, they need to be muted also after a question," said Hannity. "Why? Because it's obvious. The liberal media, they'd love to be two on one versus Donald Trump. No, that can't happen. Nor should networks be allowed to put anything on the screen but the names of the candidates."

The right-wing host was swiftly mocked by commenters on social media for his demands for how the debate format should work — with many noting that this would essentially just be a free pass for Trump to steamroll over everything and not answer questions....

'College drop out': Trump buried for listing Sean Hannity among legal experts on his side

'College drop out': Trump buried for listing Sean Hannity among legal experts on his side

Donald Trump has all kinds of esquires in his corner. And he's not bashful to name them.

Only during a rally stop in Freeland, Michigan on Wednesday he included an odd name among the company of respected legal minds: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.

"All of that being said the fake charges — we've had tremendous reviews from great people: Jonathan Turley, Andy McCarthy, Mark Levine, Greg Jarrett, Sean Hannity — so many people. But great experts. Great legal experts." ...

'Hannity knew': Liz Cheney says Fox News host is covering for Trump — starting on Jan. 6

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity is trying to prop up former President Donald Trump by giving him mulligans on his statements whenever needed — most recently during their town hall in Iowa this week where Hannity repeatedly tried to give Trump an out to deny recent reports he is working toward a dictatorship, only for him to not give a clear answer.

That's the view of former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who sounded off on MSNBC Wednesday evening.

"Trafficking in intimidation, menacing, potential violence, appeals to violence, talking about a dictatorship, talk about going after the press," said anchor Ari Melber. "These are things we know. Your family has a background in foreign policy. We know what that playbook looks like."

'Offensive': Newsom comes down on DeSantis for demeaning 'the LGBTQ community'

'Offensive': Newsom comes down on DeSantis for demeaning 'the LGBTQ community'

California Governor Gavin Newsom in Thursday night's debate shredded his Florida counterpart, GOP hopeful Ron DeSantis, for purportedly offensive attacks that "demean the LGBTQ community."

Newsom and DeSantis signed up to debate on Fox News, which has Sean Hannity hosting. Earlier in the night, the debate went off the rails as DeSantis tried to interrupt and talk over Newsom, and Newsom calmly stood his ground and rattled off statistics, appearing keen to use his time on the stage to talk up President Joe Biden's record to the Fox News viewership.

Afterward, Newsom took it upon himself to zero in on DeSantis' past attacks on anything connected to LGBTQ. Specifically, he targeted the Florida governor over his "Don't say gay" law in that state....

Hannity touted MMA training as 'personal security plan' in wake of Maine mass shooting

When he was on-air to discuss with Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley about the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, that so far has tallied 22 deaths, Fox News host Sean Hannity described his mixed martial arts and second amendment training as part of is "personal security plan" in the event of a threat posed to him.

“I can literally probably count the seconds before an incident like this becomes politicized and that part of it I never like,” Hannity said to Haley, suggesting that as the nation moves from the shock of the event of the man going on a rampage, the shift in the discourse will turn to gun law reform.

Robert Card, 40, reportedly a trained firearms instructor who serves in the Army Reserve stationed out of Saco, Maine, has been officially named as the "person of interest" who was photographed on CCTV images carrying a large rifle with a scope, according to the Lewiston Police Department....

Rupert Murdoch called Hannity an ableist slur — and considered firing him: new book

Rupert Murdoch called Hannity an ableist slur — and considered firing him: new book

Fox Corporation founder Rupert Murdoch privately disparaged top Fox News personality Sean Hannity — and considered canning him to try to make the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit go away, according to a new Michael Wolff book, "The Fall: The End of Fox News and the Murdoch Dynasty," analyzed on Tuesday by The Daily Beast.

"'When Murdoch was brought reports of Hannity’s on- and off-air defense of Fox’s postelection coverage, he perhaps seemed to justify his anchor: ‘He’s ret--ded, like most Americans,' Wolff writes in one chapter that notes how Hannity had pushed Fox to stick by Trump," reported Lachlan Cartwright and Justin Baragona. According to the report, Murdoch also "considered axing Hannity as a way of giving the voting-systems firm 'a head' in exchange for a settlement."

"As a way to justify the hypothetical firing, Wolff adds, Lachlan Murdoch proposed citing the host’s previously secret romantic relationship with Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt, using ex-CNN CEO Jeff Zucker’s firing as precedent," the report continued....
