About 50 women and children being held against their will by Hamas could be freed under a deal that is near completion, according to the Washington Post's report.

The Post reported Saturday evening that the agreement "would free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza, in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting."

"The release, which could begin within the next several days — barring last-minute hitches — could lead to the first sustained pause in conflict in Gaza, according to people familiar with its provisions," the Post has reported. "Under the terms of a detailed, six-page agreement, all parties to the conflict would freeze combat operations for at least five days while an initial 50 or more of what are believed to be a total 239 hostages are released in batches every 24 hours. Overhead surveillance would monitor movement on the ground to police the pause."...

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) is moving ahead with a subpoena against Los Angeles-based real estate investor Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, who purchased art from Hunter Biden — despite the fact that Naftali is currently dealing with her three-year-old niece being held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip following the 10/7 terrorist attack.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) is enraged by this, issuing a statement accusing the Republican chairman of abusing his power to harass the family of a terror victim.

"In the clearest sign yet of House Republicans' devious and distorted priorities, Chairman Comer has decided to subpoena a private American citizen whose 3-year-old niece is currently being held hostage in Gaza by the terrorist group Hamas," said Goldman. "Despite no evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden, House Republicans are spending their time attacking the grieving family of a Hamas hostage rather than working to get that hostage released."...

A former Donald Trump political advisor said Wednesday that the former president is fundraising off his legal troubles and using the money to attack fellow Republicans.

Political affairs consultant Sam Nunberg said it’s not clear whether the strategy he likened to hostage taking will work during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber.”

“That's what he's doing here. He's holding the Republican Party hostage. He's raising a lot of money, the vast majority of money that Republicans are raising in general,” said Nunberg, who served as an advisor to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign....
