Ex-ICE official aghast as Trump officials hatch ‘prison ships’ plot for immigrants: NYT

The Trump administration is weighing a costly new immigration enforcement tool that a former official warns “raises serious concerns at every step.”

Officials have held early talks about loading migrants onto ships, including ferries and a 500-foot former training vessel, and sailing them to Central and South America, The New York Times reported Thursday, citing two U.S. officials.

The trips could stretch for days and cost millions of dollars apiece, far more than the deportation flights the government already relies on....

ICE feeds protester photos into far-right billionaire's surveillance machine: lawsuit

ICE feeds protester photos into far-right billionaire's surveillance machine: lawsuit

A newly unsealed court filing alleges that Homeland Security agents compiled surveillance files, complete with photographs, license plates, and other personal details, on ordinary people who did nothing more than watch or record Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Maine, routing that information into a Palantir-built investigative system never designed for bystanders.

Palantir is the brainchild of Peter Thiel, the antichrist-obsessed far-right billionaire who has intensely pushed MAGA causes.

According to Wired, the case stems from a proposed class action filed in federal court by four Maine residents, who say agents harassed them for exercising their right to observe ICE enforcement during a January operation dubbed "Catch of the Day." Their filing describes agents repeatedly cruising past observers' homes, and in one instance, placing a woman on a standing order for extra screening at the border that's set to last well into 2027....

'Massive chilling effect': Red-state ranchers turn on Trump over ICE crackdown

'Massive chilling effect': Red-state ranchers turn on Trump over ICE crackdown

Three organizations representing thousands of ranchers in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas issued a joint statement Friday warning operations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are disrupting the agricultural community and will make beef prices spike again. Their statement is the beef’s industry latest salvo against policies and actions by the Trump administration.

The Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Kansas Livestock Association, and Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association said they are closely monitoring ICE’s activity and the impacts it’s creating. They described hearing reports of delays in shipping thousands of cattle to processors and workforce disruptions in important links of the supply chains such as dairies, feedyards, transportation hubs as well as feed and grain companies.

“These ICE operations are having a massive chilling effect on the legal, documented, skilled workers that put beef on the table and keep the supply chain moving,” the groups said. “Additionally, these types of disruptions will lead to higher beef prices for consumers.”...

Trump slapped with second suit to bar armed 'intimidation' tactic at midterm polls

Trump slapped with second suit to bar armed 'intimidation' tactic at midterm polls

A coalition of civil rights groups and union organizations Friday sued the Trump administration to prevent the deployment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to polling locations during November’s midterm elections.

The suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia is the second this month, following comments from top Trump officials citing a federal policy to allow ICE officers to enter polling locations in certain circumstances to conduct immigration enforcement.

The groups argue the policy violates the federal law that prohibits “armed men” at election sites, and also causes voter intimidation, which is barred under the Voting Rights Act....

Memorial for ICU nurse slain by ICE vandalized with motor oil

Early Friday morning, caretakers arrived at Alex Pretti’s memorial, finding it doused in two gallons of synthetic motor oil.

Motor oil is not flammable, and much of the memorial remains unharmed. Volunteer caretakers quickly gathered throughout the morning to wash the ground and chairs, and to clean offerings that visitors leave at the site. Caretakers expect the site to be cleaned and reset by the end of the day as volunteers continue arriving to help.

Minneapolis police responded to the scene....

Hasbro torches Trump admin for ripping off 'beloved' superhero

Hasbro torches Trump admin for ripping off 'beloved' superhero

The toy maker Hasbro called out the Trump administration's use of the image of "Transformers" leader Optimus Prime to attack immigrants.

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), posted an image on X of Optimus Prime with "ICE" written across his chest and the DHS seal on his shoulder. At the bottom of the image, DHS wrote "Transformers: Age of Deportation."

Another since-deleted post showed Optimus Prime with the DHS seal facing an AI-generated image of what's supposed to be an immigrant, and between them read the words, "Self-deport or find out. Transformers: America for Americans."...
