Trump official warned more leaks 'forthcoming' that could cost him his job

Leaks exposing White House-peddled lies about the Iran War's toll are "forthcoming," a journalist warned Wednesday as he predicted it will also cost a Trump Cabinet member a job amid other botched cover-up efforts.

David Rothkopf, the chief global affairs columnist for the Daily Beast, wrote on Wednesday about "what seems to be a growing number of sources in the intelligence community and the military who are disturbed enough by the administration's actions" in Iran and at home to hide how bad it's going.

The intelligence community is so disturbed, in fact, that "they are taking the risk of leaking facts that tell the real story of Trump and Hegseth's clusterf---," Rothkopf added. "Journalists with whom I have spoken indicate that more such reports of administration misrepresentation of what's happening in and around the Iran War are forthcoming." ...

Trump intel chief election meddling should 'freak everybody out,' top Dems shout

WASHINGTON — On Capitol Hill, questions keep mounting about Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s 2020 election investigation and whether she’s using foreign surveillance officers and resources on U.S. soil.

Democrats demanding answers about why DNI Gabbard was present for the hugely controversial FBI raid on an election office in Fulton County, Georgia last month are eager to grill her when she publicly testifies before the Senate intelligence Committee in March.

“It raises serious questions, because it would be a violation, in some cases, of laws if our foreign intelligence service was operating in the United States,” Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) told Raw Story on Capitol Hill. ...

Former U.S. ambassador charged with spying for Cuba

Miami (AFP) - A former US ambassador to Bolivia has been arrested and charged with spying for Cuba over a 40-year span, the Justice Department announced Monday, detailing a shock betrayal by a suspect who called the United States "the enemy." US Attorney General Merrick Garland laid out the allegations against Victor Manuel Rocha, a onetime member of the White House's National Security Council now accused of using his positions within government to support Cuba's "clandestine intelligence-gathering mission" against the United States. The charges against the 73-year-old retired diplomat expose ......

Ex-intel officer says US hiding info on alien craft

Washington (AFP) - We are not alone -- and American authorities are covering up the evidence, a former US intelligence officer told a congressional committee on Wednesday. David Grusch testified that he "absolutely" believes the government is in possession of unidentified anomalous phenomenon, or UAPs -- which has replaced UFO in official parlance -- as well as remains of their operators. "I was informed, in the course of my official duties, of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program," Grusch said. "I made the decision, based on the data I collected, to report this i......

Snowden leaks at 10 years: more data, more controls

Washington (AFP) - In 2013 US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden stunned the world with revelations that the massive US spy apparatus was secretly sucking up communications and private data on people around the world, from the lowest social media poster to the phone calls of German chancellor Angela Merkel. Snowden showed no one was safe from electronic prying by the National Security Agency, least of all Americans, whose private communications were supposedly constitutionally protected.  Ten years later, Snowden sits in exile in Moscow and US intelligence still collects huge amounts of pr......

US government examining over 500 'UFO' reports

Washington (AFP) - The US government is examining 510 UFO reports, over triple the number in its 2021 file, and while many were caused by drones or balloons, hundreds remain unexplained, according to a report released Thursday. The 2022 report by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) said that 247 "unidentified anomalous phenomena" or UAP reports have been filed with it since June 2021, when it revealed that it had records of 144 sightings of suspicious aerial objects under examination. In addition, the report said, another 119 reports that had been buried in old records from the past 17......
