US Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Friday that an agreement has been reached between the Israelis and Palestinians for the basis to resume Middle East peace talks.
Nearly 70 percent of Israelis surveyed recently said that Israel should accept a Palestinian state if the United Nations chooses to recognize it, according to a report in Thursday's edition of The Jerusalem Post.
The Palestinians steered towards a clash with Washington over their UN statehood bid despite a stern warning from President Barack Obama that there was no "shortcut" to peace.
