Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin won't disclose what his congressional roommate pays to live in the Capitol Hill home Mullin owns.

According to a Thursday article by The Daily Mail, Mullin has shared the house with Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) for three years. Smith, who is unmarried, confirmed the arrangement to The Daily Mail during an interview in late July.

'Didn't even know': GOP lawmakers talk repeal after being shocked by Big Beautiful Bill provision

Some Republican lawmakers are starting to regret voting for President Donald Trump's megabill now that they're hearing about some of its provisions for the very first time, NBC News reported.

Sahil Kapur, NBC News senior national political reporter, said one of the problematic provisions is a "tax hike on gamblers" that one professional sports better called "potentially catastrophic for the industry."

The Senate passed the bill Tuesday with an 80-hour per month work requirement, as well as additional co-pays for Medicaid recipients. President Donald Trump has been pressuring House Republicans to have the bill on his desk by July 4.

Bash cited nonpartisan estimates saying that 17 million Americans would lose health coverage under the Senate's version of the bill....

'Why so comfortable?' CNN's Dana Bash shames Republican over handing power to Musk

CNN's Dana Bash pressed House Ways & Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) Tuesday about how comfortable he seemed to be at willingly handing over Congress' power of the purse to Elon Musk.

"I do want to ask about the advocacy that you have had going on for a long time for Congress as the holder of the power of the purse, that is what the Constitution says," Bash began. "But you're also a big cheerleader for Elon Musk, who is unilaterally canceling programs and entire departments that Congress funded. Why are you so comfortable with Congress giving up that constitutionally mandated power?"

"It's not about Congress giving up any power," Smith answered. "It's strictly about looking at government as a whole, making sure it's efficient, making sure that money is not going in places that illegally it shouldn't have gone to. And it's just making sure that government is working for the people." ...

‘Getting Jeffrey Dahmer for littering’: Gaetz, MTG want more Biden family pain

WASHINGTON — House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden all but unraveled, but you wouldn’t know that from talking to House Republicans this week.

They’re out for Biden family blood more than ever.

The GOP’s cheering of a damning verdict for presidential son Hunter Biden — found guilty of lying on a federal firearm form and illegally owning a gun — have proven short-lived. ...
