'No': Trump's latest demand gets curt shutdown from White House spokesperson

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre answered two pointed questions about incoming President Donald Trump's social media comments on Friday.

The first had to do with Trump's assertion on TruthSocial that "The Democrats are all 'giddy' about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at 'half mast' during my inauguration. They think it's so great and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don't love our country, they only think about themselves.

"In any event, because of the death of President Jimmy Carter, the Flag may, for the first time ever during an Inauguration of a future President, be at half mast. Nobody wants to see this, and no American can be happy about it. Let’s see how it plays out. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"...

'Am I hearing a little twang?' Karine Jean-Pierre lightly hits back at Fox News reporter

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre seized an opportunity to make a quick joke Thursday at the expense of Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, who a day earlier had questioned how Vice President Kamala Harris speaks at a news briefing.

Doocy, whose questioning has often resulted in drama during press briefings, had questioned on Tuesday why Harris' accent sometimes sounds slightly different from one event to another, including while addressing two different events in Detroit and Pittsburgh — a phenomenon known as "code-switching" that's a common part of communication between people who move between different settings.

"Since when does the Vice President have what sounds like a Southern accent?" Doocy asked, to which Jean-Pierre responded, "Do you think Americans seriously think that this is an important question?" calling it "insane" and adding, "We are so moving on."...

White House fights anxiety over Biden’s future

Democrats shocked by Joe Biden’s dismal debate performance urged the US president Tuesday to be transparent about his mental fitness as he faced the first call from his own side to drop out of the election.

Some supporters have expressed growing doubts about the 81-year-old’s candidacy after last week’s televised showdown with Donald Trump, when Biden stumbled over his words and lost his train of thought — exacerbating fears about his age.

Congressman Lloyd Doggett became the first Democratic lawmaker to publicly call on Biden to make way for another candidate, saying he was hopeful the president would “make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw.”...

White House slams ‘cheapfake’ clips portraying Biden ‘freezing’

The White House on Monday criticized Republicans for spreading videos purported to show President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline, saying the images had been deceptively cut and manipulated.

“It tells you everything that we need to know about how desperate Republicans are here,” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, branding the clips as “cheapfake” videos.

Outlets including the New York Post and an official Republican social media account have shared several seemingly damning short videos in recent days of the 81-year-old president....

White House slams extremist Republicans for tanking U.S. economy outlook

White House officials say "extremism and dysfunction" among House Republicans tanked an important economy outlook rating, reports show.

Moody's announcement Friday that it would lower the U.S. economic outlook ranking from stable to negative spurred outrage among top Biden administration who blamed a looming government shutdown on conservative chaos in the House of Representatives, reports show.

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre dubbed the change “yet another consequence of congressional Republican extremism and dysfunction," according to Reuters. ...
