‘Pathetic’: Elise Stefanik hit with blistering rebuke on CNN over post-shooting smear

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) clapped back when confronted with comments by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in the wake of the Manhattan mass shooting that claimed the lives of an NYPD police officer and four others.

Stefanik has said she intends to run for governor in the future, but was not ready to make an announcement quite yet.

CNN's Manu Raju read Stefanik's social media posts following the tragedy. She aimed at both Hochul and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, calling him "Kathy Hochul’s very own Commie Mamdani" for participating in the 2020 "Defund the Police" campaign....

'Don't call me a liar!' Trump official snaps in heated clash with top Dem

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) faced off with President Donald Trump's Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Wednesday over the safety of New York City's subways and the lack of affordability of driving into Manhattan.

Nadler accused Duffy of claiming there was a "surge in subway assaults," and that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority was withholding the information from the public.

"Are you aware that major crime in the transit system, including assaults, is down 3% since last year and down 8% since 2019?" Nadler asked....

'Foreseeable tragedy': NY State lawmakers slam mayor's support of helicopter tours

New York State lawmakers are slamming Mayor Eric Adams and those who continue support helicopter tourism, in the wake of a tragic crash that killed a family of five plus the pilot.

Harrowing video showed the helicopter falling out of the sky and smashing into the Hudson River Thursday afternoon. The victims were later identified as a family from Spain who were taking the ride to celebrate a family member's birthday.

Authorities said Siemens executive Agustin Escobar, 49, his wife Merce Comprubi Montal, and their three young children, ages 4, 5 and 11 were killed. The name of the pilot has not yet been released....

National Public Radio stalwart Linda Wertheimer ended 53 years at the storied outlet with a bittersweet note to her colleagues shared online the day after the 80-year-old co-host of “All Things Considered” announced her retirement on Tuesday. “I was incredibly lucky to arrive at NPR when I did, which was at the very beginning, and that’s what I want to talk about today,” her letter begins. “NPR was not yet on the air, ‘All Things Considered’ was barely an idea and nowhere near a program.” She goes on to discuss the many changes she experienced and responsibilities she held during her time at N......

Jewish man attacked at lower Manhattan Duane Reade in possible hate crime: police

NEW YORK — A Jewish man was attacked inside a lower Manhattan Duane Reade store when an innocent bumping erupted into a full-blown hate crime, police said Saturday. The Tuesday morning beating comes as antisemitic incidents across the city have skyrocketed while the Israeli-Hamas conflict in Gaza continues. The 66-year-old victim was leaving the Duane Reade on John St. near Broadway about 9:30 a.m. when he accidentally bumped into a 40-year-old man in a purple and black North Face jacket. “F—— Jew!” the outraged stranger said as he turned around and punched the victim in the head, cops said. T......

Man jumps into reflection pool at 9/11 memorial in lower Manhattan

NEW YORK — A man jumped into one of the reflection pools at the 9/11 memorial in lower Manhattan Monday, police said. The 33-year-old man jumped 30 feet into the shallow sunken pool — which sits in the footprint of what was the north tower of the World Trade Center — around 1:30 p.m., police said. The man laid down in the shallow water on the edge of a smaller basin inside the pool that drops down another 20 feet, video posted to social media shows. Police arrested the man at the scene. Charges against him were pending while he was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a leg injury. The memorial poo......
