A U.S. Senator faced accusations Sunday that he'd lost his grip on reality after he repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that Democrats were responsible for a white supremacist march in Washington D.C. on Independence Day.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) took to X to share numerous posts of the Patriot Front members, who wore white masks and carried Confederate flags, as they moved through the nation's capital Saturday.

"Democrats need to stop reminding America of their racist history," Lee wrote in one post. He added in another, "Patriot Front: Brought to you by leftists who don’t know that patriots don’t wear masks." ...

Four days later, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) published a story confirming that he was enlisted in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg and that as a member of Patriot Front, he operated “a social media account that disclosed personal information about perceived political enemies — including journalists, left-leaning activists, politicians and community members.” ...

The Neo-fascist hate group Patriot Front is being slammed for "inserting itself" into disaster relief efforts in Texas, according to The Guardian.

Leader Thomas Rousseau, a Texas native, announced in a video message on Telegram that his "activists" were “responding to the flooding, which has destroyed communities and taken the lives of scores of Americans."

Rousseau added that his group "is prioritizing their 'people' and 'European peoples' in those operations," the report said....

U.S. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), an ally to Donald Trump, is the latest Republican to disavow the Patriot Front, an often-masked organization that has been labeled a right-wing and white supremacist hate group.

Lee took to social media on Saturday to question the legitimacy of the conservative marchers. The senator earlier in the day was taking heat for falling for a hoax about President Joe Biden having some kind of a "medical emergency" while on Air Force One on Friday.

"I’ve never heard of this group," he said on Saturday. "Any chance this is a false flag operation?" ...
