Kaitlan Collins traps Scott Jennings with one line about the Trump job he won't deny

Kaitlan Collins traps Scott Jennings with one line about the Trump job he won't deny

CNN's in-house conservative commentator Scott Jennings was chided about being the frontrunner to replace the outgoing White House press secretary.

During a Thursday evening appearance on CNN, Jennings was again asked directly whether President Donald Trump or his administration had reached out to him about taking over for Karoline Leavitt, who announced on Wednesday that she's leaving her role as White House press secretary.

Jennings was asked about it on Wednesday night, when he was on the roundtable for CNN NewsNight. He told guest host Lulu Garcia-Navarro, "No," he didn't plan on taking the job, but that hasn't kept him from the murmurs about Leavitt's possible replacement. The prediction market Kalshi even has him as the frontrunner....

'You can just smell the fear!' CNN analyst comes unglued at GOP pundit over Paxton's win

A CNN analyst laughed off attacks on a Texas Democrat's chances of winning a Senate seat.

Pundit Paul Begala sniffed the air as CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings listed off the problems with Rep. James Talarico (D-TX), who will challenge Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for a Senate seat in November.

"You know what I'm smelling, Scott?" Begala said, as Jennings blasted Talarico's views on transgender identity, theology, and eating meat....

'Awful quagmire': Pundit warns Trump has doomed GOP by squandering winning card

Democratic pundit Paul Begala claimed Monday that President Donald Trump has doomed the GOP for the upcoming midterm elections because he failed to get the American people on board with his attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.

On CNN Monday, Begala conceded, "Nobody wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Nobody. I mean, nobody."

Begala then argued that Trump "needs to make the case that it was the last option, the only option, and that it worked, and that he has now postured us to defend ourselves. And I know he has not done that. He is running around deporting people at Home Depot instead of engaging in counterterrorism on the homeland."...

'Shut up, JD!' CNN pundit rages at Vance for 'picking a fight with the Holy Father'

'Shut up, JD!' CNN pundit rages at Vance for 'picking a fight with the Holy Father'

Vice President J.D. Vance got dressed down Tuesday afternoon by CNN pundit Paul Begala for picking a public fight with Pope Francis.

Begala appeared on "State of the Union" with host Jake Tapper to discuss Vance's recent comments about "ordo amoris," Latin for "the order of love." Vance used the Catholic theory on Fox News to try to justify mass deportations, and the Pontiff wasn't having it.

"Pope Francis sent a message on Tuesday to clear up Vance’s comments. Without mentioning the vice president by name, he attacked Vance’s entire logic for the Trump administration’s cruel policies," wrote New Republic's Malcolm Ferguson. ...

'Dead cat bounce!' Dem strategists crack up as they take turns bashing Trump and Vance

'Dead cat bounce!' Dem strategists crack up as they take turns bashing Trump and Vance

Two Democratic strategists made each other and a CNN host laugh Wednesday as they laid into J.D. Vance and Donald Trump ahead of next week's debate — with one saying Vance gave Trump a "dead cat bounce" and the other saying Trump will bring a playbook as "stale" as an eight-year-old, sun-soaked milk carton.

James Carville and Paul Begala, who helped President Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, joined CNN's "OutFront" with Erin Burnett to talk about the upcoming Sept. 10 debate, with Carville saying he fully expects Vice President Kamala Harris to "drag" Trump "all across the debate platform."

"I think she is very well prepared," he said. "I think his whole act is stale and is going to be exposed at this debate. I'm very optimistic and I'm not supposed to say that. I might have to eat my words, but I don't think I'm going to." ...

Tucker Carlson: Bloomberg's soda ban is class warfare

Daily Caller founder Tucker Carlson on Thursday declared that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's attempt to ban large sugary soft drinks was part of a class war because liberals drink Frappuccinos, which were not part of the ban.
