MAGA pundit melts down over demand to denounce Trump official's 'Nazi streak'

A MAGA pundit melted down during a CNN roundtable debate about where the GOP draws the line when it comes to supporting controversial candidates.

The discussion started with a clip of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) defending Texas congressional candidate Brandon Herrera, despite disparaging comments about women and videos of him goosestepping to songs used by neo-Nazis. Johnson campaigned and fundraised for him and defended his endorsement of Herrera by noting that he apologized.

Jesse Arm, the vice president of external affairs at the Manhattan Institute, argued that despite the GOP's support for Herrera, the party doesn't have a problem with electing extremists. He said that the proof is the ouster of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie, whom he called "two bigots."...

Trump admin lawyer denies backing Tate brothers via 'politically driven prosecutions' post

A Trump administration official with a history of advocating for Andrew and Tristan Tate is backing away from his association with the social media influencer brothers facing criminal charges for sex trafficking in the UK — after making a post on X denouncing “politically driven persecutions.”

Paul Ingrassia, the acting general counsel for the U.S. General Services Administration, posted on X on July 19, a day after the brothers were arrested by federal marshals in Miami. “Politically driven prosecutions based on one’s personal beliefs are completely antithetical to a democratic society," he wrote.

Ingrassia’s post did not mention the Tate brothers by name, but his admiration for them and past history with them is well documented. In 2023, Ingrassia posted on X, “Stop the war on masculinity. Stop the war on [Andrew Tate] and [Tristan Tate]. #FreeTate.”...

DHS official at center of 'sugar baby' scandal had accused boss of sex harassment: report

A Department of Homeland Security official who was accused of using a "sugar baby" platform to fund her lifestyle had apparently accused her former boss of sexual harassment before the allegations surfaced, according to reports on Wednesday.

Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism Julia Varvaro, 29, was placed on leave after she was accused of soliciting funds from "sugar daddy" men on the website Seeking.com in a report from The Daily Mail. She denied the allegations and said that an ex-boyfriend was disgruntled after they ended their relationship.

"The agency’s swift action against the 29-year-old stands in stark contrast to its response months earlier when she accused her then-superior, Paul Ingrassia, of sexual harassment," The Daily Beast reported....

'No idea who he is': Groups cited by Trump admin deny backing dubious nominee

Prominent Jewish groups are denying the Trump administration's claims they support an inexperienced government lawyer with "ties to a Holocaust denier" to lead the Office of Special Counsel, according to CNN.

The administration's pick to head the government's "top watchdog group," 30-year-old Paul Ingrassia, has just six months of government experience, and a "history of racist invective and conspiratorial rants." Ingrassia has also made claims "that straight White men were the most intelligent demographic group," the report said.

"His nomination has drawn scrutiny over his past promotion of conspiracy theories and tweets from his podcast that included calls for martial law following Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss and harsh anti-Israel rhetoric aimed at the GOP," wrote Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck with CNN's Kfile....
