Tyson Foods recalls nearly 30,000 pounds of breaded chicken nuggets over metal shards

Tyson Foods is recalling 30,000 pounds of frozen chicken “Fun Nuggets” after consumers reported finding metal shards in the dinosaur-shaped patties. “A limited number of consumers have reported they found small, pliable metal pieces in the product, and out of an abundance of caution, the company is recalling this product,” Tyson said in a statement that included the bag label. “No other Tyson Brand products are affected.” The recall applies to 29-ounce plastic bag packages made at a single location on Sept. 5, Tyson said in its recall announcement on Saturday. About 16,500 packages of the nugg......

About 441,000 Banquet TV dinners got recalled. The chicken might have plastic.

Nobody expects the frozen meals once called “TV dinners” to be the height of healthy eating, but nobody expects plastic in the entree, either. That’s why ConAgra Brands recalled about 245,366 pounds — or 441,107 8.9-ounce boxes — of Banquet Chicken Strips Meal. And, the food colossus found out about the plastic the hard way: from a customer who found out the hard way. The USDA-Food Safety Inspection Service recall notice says ConAgra “notified FSIS that it received a consumer complaint of plastic in the chicken strip portion of the product, which resulted in an oral injury associated with cons......

Alfia is based in Hollywood, Florida, and sells pills for weight management, vitamin boosters and weight loss, according to its website. A FDA laboratory analysis confirmed a finding of sibutramine in the weight loss pill, a controlled su......

The recall was issued on Jan. 5 and all officers who received 9 mm ammo from the department between Dec. 19 and Wednesday were ordered to report to the outdoor range on Rodman’s Neck and return them for a new cache of bullets. “Bring all affected ammunition to the Outdoor Range on all three platoons with any and all ammunition issued from 12/19/22 through 01/04/23,” the o......

Here’s why organic dressing got recalled from Whole Foods stores in 26 states

Bad labeling creating a potentially serious, even life-threatening, situation caused 365 brand Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing to be recalled from Whole Foods Market stores in Florida, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and 21 other states. Van Law Food Products admits in its FDA-posted recall notice that the back label for 12-ounce bottles of 365 brand Classic Ranch Dressing & Dip got put on the bottles for the recalled Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing. The Classic Ranch flavor has milk and egg, so those are the allergens warned about on the back label of the Organic Creamy Caesar. ......

Fireworks injuries are up 25% over the past 15 years. A pediatric ER doc weighs in on safety

James Reingold doesn’t want to snuff out anyone’s flame, but after too many summers treating emergency department patients at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, he has a special Independence Day message: For the love of whatever you hold dear, don’t give your kids sparklers. Fireworks injuries have gone up 25% over the last 15 years, with children and young adults most likely to be hurt, according to new data released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Fireworks imports rose 50% during the same 2005-21 period, to 416 million pounds. Sparklers can be especially dangerous beca......
