Republican's top aide exposed in group chat with Nazi memes and racist rhetoric: report

A top aide to a vulnerable Pennsylvania Republican was in a college group chat that traded racist and antisemitic memes, a report says.

Arnaud Armstrong, who serves as communications director for Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA), was a member of a GroupMe chat while at the University of Pittsburgh where members swapped Nazi memes, jokes about the Holocaust and racist stereotypes, Judge Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The report lands at a bad time for Mackenzie, a first-term Republican who is locked in a tight reelection fight for a closely watched swing seat....

'Please stop': CNN panel teams up against shouting MAGA pundit mid-rant

Several members of a CNN panel tried to get a MAGA pundit to stop her "embarrassing" rant.

Former Trump White House staffer Caroline Sunshine took part in the panel, hosted by CNN anchor Abby Phillip. Most of the panel turned on Sunshine, however, when she started to defend the Trump administration from accusations of racism because it started accepting South African refugees while turning down refugees from other African nations.

"The United States has had an extremely generous refugee policy in regards to several African nations," Sunshine argued. "Now that South Africa is one of them, there's a problem. When was the problem when we were taking in millions from every other destabilized country?"...

James Comer mocked for eye-popping claim on Fox News: 'Not even trying to mask it'

Political analysts and observers referred to a GOP lawmaker as a "racist" after he made remarks that seemed to reveal his thinly veiled thoughts.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) spoke about Medicaid fraud during a Fox News interview, where he said, "What we're seeing, especially in the blue states, is there is rampant fraud, especially in the minority communities."

He added, "The only way we're going to stop is if people are put in jail."...

Black Louisianan calls MAGA 'the last breath of the Confederacy' at fiery hearing

A Louisiana man said during a state Senate redistricting hearing that MAGA was "the last breath of the Confederacy."

In an emotional speech on Monday, the resident who identified himself as Marshawn said he had "zero doubt" that Republicans in the state would pass a map that erased majority-Black districts.

"If y'all can give us less than zero seats, you would do it. Y'all do this under the orders of somebody that said the Civil Rights Act was harm for the white people, that it caused reverse racism," he explained. "RFK said that Black children are overfilled on antidepressants and that they need to be re-parented on different forms, all of them. Pete Hegseth constantly brings Doug Wilson to the Pentagon to give a prayer service. Doug Wilson is the same pastor that said that slave owners were on strong spiritual ground."...

Holocaust museum staffers say institution censoring itself to avoid Trump wrath

Holocaust museum staffers say institution censoring itself to avoid Trump wrath

Two former employees at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., have revealed that the institution preemptively changed its programming to avoid the Trump administration's criticism, according to a Politico report on Monday.

As President Donald Trump returned to his second term in office, the museum cut a workshop titled the "fragility of democracy" and scrubbed educational resources about racism in the United States from its website. The moves came as Trump's administration focused on "corrosive ideology," a crackdown and attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and educational content it views as promoting what it considers anti-American values, including lessons about racism and democracy's fragility.

Following Trump's demands that the Smithsonian Institution change "to more closely align its content with his worldview," the administration pushed to remove mentions of DEI initiatives from government websites. He has not commented on USHMM's educational content or website. However, two former staff members spoke under condition of anonymity over fear of retaliation, saying that the museum made several of the changes to try "to not draw unwanted negative attention from the Trump administration." ...
