MAGA pollster warns Republicans sleeping as red states slip from their grasp

A MAGA pollster who called President Donald Trump's last two White House wins warned Republicans are sleeping on red states now slipping toward Democrats.

In a Wednesday episode of Bulwark Takes, Rich Baris laid out the case during an interview with former GOP operative Tim Miller. Baris, the director of Big Data Poll, argued that the party is coasting on Trump's 2024 margins in states he won't be on the ballot to defend.

"Republicans are going to run out of a coalition soon if they don't build on what he started to build in '24," Baris said. He pointed to a cluster of seats that the GOP treats as locked down. The Republicans' assumption is "hubris," Baris said....

Trump-backed industry 'completely blindsided' by growing revolt: report

An industry backed by President Donald Trump is worried that his support can't save it from a growing revolt, per Politico.

According to reporting by Politico, Trump's vocal support for building AI data centers hasn't "stanched the bleeding" faced by companies that build and run them. They haven't even seen his backing make a difference in red states.

'Trump has lied consistently' -- and he's giving Dems a chance with rural voters: expert

Democrats are being urged to follow Donald Trump's lead when it comes to communicating with red state voters, according to Thomas Schaller, a political science professor and guest on "The Daily Blast" podcast from The New Republic.

Schaller discussed his book, "White Rural Rage," with host Greg Sargent on Monday.

Sargent asked how Democrats can "go into red America, into some of these swingy House districts, some of these red states, some of these red House districts, which I think are going to be in play in 2026, and...win over two, three, four points among those demographics? How do they talk about the tariffs? How do they talk about Trump? What do they say?"...
