Florida Republicans' last-minute redistricting push has "backfired" on President Donald Trump and his party as Democrats grow "outwardly optimistic" about the state.

Speaking in a Thursday episode of his show, "Scott MacFarlane Reports," MeidasTouch Capitol Hill correspondent Scott MacFarlane pointed to "a series of new race forecasts" that have shifted congressional, governor's, and Senate races "in the direction of Democrats," including several in Florida. The state "has not seen Democratic growth, not much of it at least, in Trump's two terms," MacFarlane pointed out.

"What is happening in Florida? Why and how are Democrats so outwardly optimistic about Florida of all places in the Trump era?" MacFarlane asked at the top of the episode....

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sparked ridicule Friday after offering “asylum” to the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial.

DeSantis lashed out after NBC10 Boston reported that the juror had faced domestic violence allegations and had an active restraining order against him while hearing the case.

“NBC is trying to smear that juror,” DeSantis wrote Friday in a post on X. “Another low for legacy media.”...

According to a Monday article by The Daily Mail, Rubio speechwriter Nate Hochman was dismissed from Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R) 2023 presidential campaign. Hochman is now a senior aide and works as deputy director of the State Department's policy planning office and as chief speechwriter for Rubio.

Hochman lost the DeSantis job after resharing a video that showed a dejected pro-Trump meme character being cheered by headlines about the governor's immigration and anti-"woke" crackdowns, The Daily Mail reported. The clip closed with the Florida state seal morphing into a Sonnenrad, or black sun, an emblem the Anti-Defamation League considers a neo-Nazi and white supremacist symbol, The Daily Mail reported....
