Trump DOJ accused of using bonkers Epstein scheme to protect Wall Street banker: report

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) accused the Justice Department of "secretly hiding" an FBI interview with a banker tied to Jeffrey Epstein to protect Wall Street.

Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, made the accusation in an interview with MeidasTouch on Wednesday. The same day, he sent a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel demanding every FBI 302 report tied to investigations into Epstein and his associates.

"I have learned that the Department of Justice is secretly hiding an FBI Epstein document for one reason, to protect the Wall Street banks," Wyden said. "This document describes an interview with one of the Epstein bankers, and it would help make the case that the biggest Wall Street banks need to be punished for looking the other way."...

'No strategy at all!' Senator grills Trump trade rep amid tariff chaos

The ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee grilled U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer Tuesday about the Trump tariffs set to take effect Wednesday, calling the situation they've caused for average Americans, "pretty rotten stuff."

"I saw at page four of your testimony, Mr. Greer, you said the president's strategy is already bearing fruit," Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) began. " I can tell you, for a lot of Oregonians who have 401Ks that are being drained out, that's pretty rotten stuff, and you ought to realize how serious this is for the country."

Wyden continued, "Now, everybody in the administration practically has a different story about the Trump tax hike. So, I'm interested in knowing what the story is today. Will higher tariffs go into effect tomorrow as announced?" ...

In her 20s, Norris realized her dream, and ever since, she’s delivered mail on Chicago’s West Side.

But that dream became a nightmare....

A law to protect kids online? It might just happen now.

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer seems to have overcome a major roadblock in his own party who’s holding up legislation designed to protect children from online harm.

“The majority leader and I have exchanged new text that looks like an improvement to me,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) exclusively told Raw Story at the U.S. Capitol. “I need to make sure that it protects LGBTQ teens, and, at this point, it looks like we're moving in the right direction.”

We asked 12 U.S. senators if they — like Bob Menendez — stockpile gold bars and cash stacks at home

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) pleaded not guilty to bribery in New York today after allegedly pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, gold bars and a sleek Mercedes-Benz.

At a press conference this week, the senator refused to resign and explained that the close-to-$500,000 in cash stuffed in his clothes was his rainy day fund, legally withdrawn from his bank — although he didn’t elaborate on where the upward of $100,000 in gold came from, let alone the black Benz.

So, are piles of cash and gold just a normal part of life in the secretive club that is the United States Senate?...
