GOP ex-gov rebukes Trump after 'heartbreaking' attack on Dem candidate: 'Uncalled for'

A former Republican South Carolina governor who once backed President Donald Trump tore into him for attacking a Democratic Senate candidate.

David Beasley, who led South Carolina in the 1990s and later ran the United Nations World Food Programme, appeared on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront" on Tuesday to condemn Trump's remarks about Annie Andrews, the Democrat challenging Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC).

"I have been all over the world dealing with war and conflict, and I come back home, and I see the divisiveness that's taking place in America," Beasley said. "And it breaks your heart because we're in a trajectory that's tearing this country apart."...

James Carville pinpoints the one move that could sink Darline Graham: 'She can't do it'

Veteran Democratic political strategist James Carville described how to sink the GOP's South Carolina nominee for the Senate, Darline Graham.

In a Wednesday episode of Politics War Room, Carville suggested that the Democratic nominee for the Senate seat, Annie Andrews, can beat Graham, who's endorsed by President Donald Trump and won the GOP runoff on Tuesday. Carville's strategy plays off Graham's faux pas during her debate with her GOP runoff opponent, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), where she admitted that she's "not that informed on national security."

"If I were Annie Andrews' campaign manager, right now, this moment, I would send a communication to Darline Graham's campaign manager, and it would be as follows," Carville explained. "Dear sir, madame, whatever the case is, congratulations on your recent primary victory."...

Hecklers stop Trump's speech cold as angry MAGA fan fires back with vulgar gesture

President Donald Trump's South Carolina speech came to a screeching halt Friday when a heckler interrupted him — and a man in the crowd made his feelings about the disruption unmistakable.

As Trump stumped for Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) in Myrtle Beach, he abruptly stopped as shouting broke out in the audience. When cameras cut to the commotion, a man in the crowd was seen furiously aiming both middle fingers at the heckler — the "double bird," as journalist Aaron Rupar put it.

Trump waited while the heckler was hauled out....

Darline Graham's campaign in hot water as 'excessive' donations pile up: report

The Federal Election Commission has forced Darline Graham to refund Senate campaign donations from powerful backers that surpassed legal limits.

According to a Wednesday report by NOTUS, the GOP candidate for Senate in South Carolina and sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham violated campaign finance rules. Graham must refund or redesignate roughly 10 percent of her cash on hand, currently $251,000, according to NOTUS.

Individual donors may give a federal-level political candidate up to $3,500 per election, including primaries, runoffs, and general elections, under FEC rules....

Blindsided Republican asks for prayers after Trump snub: 'Big decision to make'

A MAGA lawmaker is asking for "prayers" after being snubbed by President Donald Trump.

Rep. Russell Fry (R-SC) took to X on Saturday just hours after Trump announced he would endorse late Sen. Lindsey Graham's sister Darline Graham Nordone to replace him — and not Fry.

"My family and I have a big decision to make soon," Fry wrote. "We'd appreciate your prayers."...

Ex-GOP operative predicts stunning November defeat for 'deeply flawed' MAGA senator

Ex-GOP operative predicts stunning November defeat for 'deeply flawed' MAGA senator

A MAGA senator faces a competitive midterm race, according to a former GOP operative who expects him to lose.

In a recent episode of The Warning podcast, Steve Schmidt predicted that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will lose his seat to Annie Andrews, who was Schmidt's guest on the show.

"You're gonna win this race," Schmidt told Andrews. "This is a winnable race with a deeply flawed candidate in South Carolina who's never really been rooted to the state in the way that historically some South Carolina politicians have managed to do."...
