Vice President JD Vance will have to stay home instead of traveling to Switzerland to finalize the memorandum of understanding the Trump administration struck with the Iranian regime last weekend, according to a White House spokesperson.

On Sunday, Trump announced his administration had struck a deal with the regime that would immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and provide a pathway to ending the conflict. The final agreement was initially scheduled to be signed on Friday in Switzerland.

CNN journalist Kristen Holmes reported on Thursday that a White House spokesperson told her, "The Vice President is not departing tonight." The spokesperson added that "as the Vice President said at his press conference, the plans for the upcoming technical talks have not been finalized," referring to the deal to end the Iran war....

A Trump diplomat left the internet absolutely creeped out with a video she posted that seems to be digitally touched up.

Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein Callista Gingrich, who is the wife of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, posted a video from her office's official account on Thursday announcing an upcoming summit. Social media users were quickly freaked out by how alien her face appeared, as she seems to have edited it with Facetune or a similar AI-based tool.

"Why does this woman INSIST on having her face airbrushed to infinity in every photo and video?" X user @krismacgregor wrote, noting that Gingrich frequently edits her videos this way. "Horrifying."...

Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended what could be viewed as a hollow "congratulations" to Switzerland Friday as it celebrated its nation's founding just a day after President Donald Trump imposed the highest tariff on any European nation.

"I extend my congratulations to the people of Switzerland on your National Day, August 1," Rubio wrote in a press statement. "The United States values its strong and steady relationship with Switzerland. Our cooperation spans trade, finance, and security areas where Swiss leadership and reliability continue to make a global impact."

Politico reporter Douglas Busvine wrote, "Normally on Aug. 1, the country of 9 million commemorates the founding of the Swiss Confederation in the year 1291. As on July 4 in the U.S., people celebrate with fireworks and parades." ...

CNN's Brianna Keilar was taken aback during a discussion on the Trump tariffs after "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary brought up the price of Rolex watches, which start at about $6,400.

"Rolex just this hour raised their prices — and everybody in the U.S. knows what a Rolex watch is — by 3% to offset the tariff imposed on Switzerland, even though there is no trading imbalance with Switzerland," O'Leary said, as Keilar interrupted him.

"OK, Kevin, so I'm going to stop you. Everyone knows about Rolex, but like, who buys a Rolex? I mean, a lot of people do not buy a Rolex watch, right? So, let me ask you this, because you say they should wait until you see the trade deals —" ...

Secretary of State Antony Blinken was briefly left stranded in Switzerland on Wednesday after the Boeing plane intended to fly him back to the United States suffered a critical failure caused by an oxygen leak, according to multiple reports. Blinken had only just boarded the modified Boeing 737 jet in Zurich when the issue became apparent, CNN reported. The aircraft — a military version of the Boeing 737 Next Generation — was ultimately deemed unsafe, and passengers were forced to deplane. Another smaller plane was chartered for the secretary. Others traveling with Blinken, including members o......

Switzerland and Ukraine will organize a high-level peace summit amid Kiev's ongoing war with invading Russian forces, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Swiss President Viola Amherd said on Monday in Bern. There was initially no date named for the meeting, which came at Zelensky's request, but the leaders said planning would begin immediately. Zelensky indicated that Russia would not have a seat at the talks. Only countries that support Ukraine's territorial integrity would be invited, he said. Zelensky met Amherd in Bern before he travelled on to the alpine resort town of Davos to tak......
