The most recent McConnell proof-of-life photo faces fresh scrutiny as sleuths zero in on the outfit of the hospitalized senator's wife, former Trump cabinet member Elaine Chao, according to reporting by The Daily Beast.

The proof-of-life photo taken on July 26 and released the next day shows Chao seated next to a smiling McConnell. Chao is wearing a white button-up shirt with "peach-colored seashells" on it. ...

Security at the White House Correspondents' Dinner has been criticized by an attendee who says more could have been done to prevent the shooting.

A gunman stormed a security checkpoint outside the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton on April 26, 2026, forcing President Trump and his party to evacuate the head table in a chaotic attack.

CNN journalist Wolf Blitzer witnessed the violence firsthand. "All of a sudden, I start hearing gunshots in the hall right near me," Blitzer said. "The next thing I knew, a police officer threw me to the ground and was on top of me." Blitzer described hearing approximately six shots and characterized the scene as "very scary" and "so worrisome," noting the gunman "had a major weapon."...

Florida Rep. Cory Mills (R) is firing back at accusations he threatened to release nude photos and videos of a woman after she says she broke up with the married lawmaker, according to Politico.

Lindsey Langston, a Florida Republican state committee member and 2024 winner of the Miss United States beauty pageant, told police that following the break-up, "Mills contacted her multiple times threatening to release nude images and videos of them having sex, according to the report, which said she provided law enforcement with messages that allegedly backed up her claims."

Langston also told authorities that Mills "threatened to harm any of her future romantic partners," according to the police report obtained by Politico....

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) got the crowd going at a progressive event over the weekend when she launched into President Donald Trump with a profanity-laced attack, according to The Daily Beast.

Speaking at a MoveOn event in Arizona, the Texas congresswoman didn't mince words when it came to her feelings about Trump, who has called her a "low-IQ person."
