Retailers issue 'warning' to Trump that higher prices are coming soon: report

Retailers are likely to raise prices "in the coming weeks" due to President Donald Trump's tariffs, according to a report in The New York Post.

Business editor and Fox correspondent Charles Gasparino wrote Friday, "The retail industry is alerting President Trump that they can’t 'eat' his tariffs forever – and price increases are likely to hit in the coming weeks."

"Whether this gets translated into higher official inflation numbers is anyone’s guess at this point. But for many items enjoyed by Americans who like cheap goods brought in from abroad – a majority of them from China – these things will soon be getting a lot less cheap."...

Trump's favorite newspaper fears he may be neck-deep in 'Hunter Biden-style scandal'

President Donald Trump's once favorite daily tabloid, The New York Post, set off alarm bells Monday over his "questionable" cryptocurrency dealings that threaten a "Hunter Biden-style scandal at the White House."

Reporters Thomas Barrabi and Isabel Vincent cited experts who concluded "Donald Trump risks undercutting his presidency with a Hunter Biden-style influence-peddling scandal unless he clamps down on questionable crypto deals."

The story took aim at Trump's "latest apparent conflict of interest" involving a Chinese e-commerce firm pledging to buy up to $300 million of $TRUMP meme coins. The Post also cited another case of a Chinese billionaire investing $75 million in Trump's World Liberty Financial that lists Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump as top executives. ...

Sluts will conquer the universe

Sluts will conquer the universe

[rebelmouse-image 24863328 original_size="400x421" expand=1]Roy makes fun of a bunch of wingnuts who took the bait offered by the New York Post. The article was one of those faux trend pieces claiming women in New York have discovered celibacy, and the official wingnut stance was, "Good idea; too bad it's too late for you nasty sluts." Naturally, not a one was smart enough to see the bait and switch in the article---to "prove" that women in New York had given up on casual sex, they offered examples of women who had given up on dating altogether, and were celebrating how productive they are when they don't have to offer their attentions to a man. Other examples of the "new celibacy" were a woman who refused a proposition to have sex for money and a woman whose most recent break-up scarred her so badly she took a break from dating. The fact that women who don't have male partners in their lives suddenly find they have a lot of time and energy to work on creative projects isn't really a testament to traditional values, but a sad commentary on how the patriarchy still has enough of a grip that even supposedly liberated women find that being in relationships with men equals having to offer support often without getting as much in return. Not one of their examples fit the model that conservatives claim works for women, which is waiting until marriage so that you attract a good man, with "good" being defined as "having incredible hang-ups about sex to the point where he can't handle that you may have enjoyed it prior to meeting him". The reason one should want such a man is rarely explained, but the implication is that all men think this way.

The New York Post makes its case for a post-racial America

I'm glad we don't have to worry about racism any more. Sean Delonas created this unbelievable cartoon for the New York Post that clearly passed muster with the editors' desk. It portrays commentary on the stimulus bill ("They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill") using a bullet-ridden chimp on the pavement. Who do you think he's referring to?
