Veteran Democratic political strategist Julie Roginsky tore into ABC's "The View" and its decision to invite former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

In a Saturday Substack article, Roginsky discussed how "The View" announced that Karoline Leavitt had been invited to join the show as a guest for its new season this fall. Most of Roginsky's ire was directed at the show's network, ABC, which also runs "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and is owned by Disney.

"Has ABC completely lost its mind?" Roginsky wrote. "This booking is a disgrace and ABC should cancel it before it beclowns itself any further."...

More than 77,000 comments were filed with the FCC by defenders of the long-running daytime talk show, which reportedly prompted the show to make booking changes this week.

Inside sources revealed to Semafor that “The View,” the top-rated daytime talk show on television, succumbed to pressure from the Trump administration’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and “changed [its] programing,” the outlet reported Sunday night.

Back in February, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr announced that his agency was investigating the program for potential violations of a 1934 rule that mandates certain media stations provide equal time to political candidates. As noted by Semafor, “since then, the ABC talk show hasn’t featured a single political candidate running in a competitive midterm race.”

“The inquiry itself has been enough to force the network to hedge which guests appear on the show, a notable departure from The View’s previous booking decisions,” Semafor’s report reads....

Vice President JD Vance was under fire on Tuesday after entering the lion's den on "The View" — prompting a response from an analyst who referred to his leadership as overblown.

Jonah Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Dispatch, told CNN's Kasie Hunt that although Vance could have political ambitions for 2028, he might end up in the running for president in a crowded race.
