A Democratic congressman wants to fight fire with fire by turning President Donald Trump against a cabinet member who has been hiring one of the president's enemies.

"What Pete has done, he claims unfaltering loyalty to Donald Trump, but then he's hiring people who Donald Trump has fired, who he's disparaged," Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) said about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a Saturday interview on "The Daily Beast Podcast."

Crow grilled Hegseth during a hearing earlier in the week, and accused him of "repeatedly going behind the president's back." At one point, he focused on Hegseth's hiring of his personal lawyer, Tim Parlatore, a former Trump ally turned foe....

Former President Donald Trump's one-time attorney Tim Parlatore clashed with MSNBC's Ari Melber on Friday over the issue of how the former president could effectively impeach the testimony of Michael Cohen, another former Trump attorney planning to give evidence against him in the Manhattan hush payment trial.

The dispute flared when Parlatore explained how the Trump camp could use yet another lawyer linked to Trump, Bob Costello — and Melber, himself a lawyer, was unconvinced.

"A Trump-connected lawyer who has his own credibility issues including publicly releasing what would have been attorney/client privileged information," said Melber. "But you're saying that that lawyer that represented Cohen, you're saying that could be useful as trial, why? Because he had that period of time and he would say this is the version of the story before the story changed again?" ...

With President Joe Biden getting a criminal hall pass, former President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer in the federal classified documents case locked horns with CNN’s Jake Tapper over a critical detail: they may both be pack rats, but one president allegedly obstructed and the other didn’t.

“For just as Joe Biden should have returned the documents the moment he's telling his ghost writer, ‘Hey, I found the classified stuff downstairs!’ so, too, would Trump have had to do it,” said Timothy Parlatore, who defended the 45th president after a federal grand jury in Miami in June 2023 decided to indict him for stashing away classified documents from the White House to Mar-a-Lago and then rebuffing the government’s request to return them.

Donald Trump's now-former attorney Joe Tacopina had a bad reputation among his colleagues, according to former Trump attorney Tim Parlatore.

Parlatore on Tuesday appeared on MSNBC's The Beat With Ari Melber, where he was asked what he thinks of Tacopina leaving Trump's legal team. Melber asked Palatore if the development leaves the team weaker, stronger, or with no real difference.

"In many ways no difference. I mean, he's essentially been on the shelf ever since he screwed up the first E. Jean Carroll case. He is -- I mean, he's very good at self-publicity, but not actually very good in the courtroom, and I think that that's something that we all saw during the Jean Carroll case," Parlatore said. "It's something I warned them repeatedly do not bring this guy in at all, and it's something that none of other lawyers -- none of us wanted to work with him. So he went and he did the Jean Carroll case. He mishandled it, in my opinion. He was put on the shelf and then they kind of left him there for several months." ...

Donald Trump's former lawyer Tim Parlatore told CNN on Saturday that the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case represents "the biggest threat" to the former president.

Parlatore, who worked on the documents case and now continues to represent those in Trump's orbit, appeared on CNN's Newsroom with Jim Acosta, where he was asked about the network's recent reporting on the Trump team's efforts to get "fake elector" documents to D.C. Parlatore said that, while everybody he has represented and every witness that he has talked to through his time working for Trump said the elector plot was "just push for a delay," new evidence suggests things went deeper than that.

"The CNN reporting this week about, for example, Mike Roman pushing back and saying don't put that language on the other states, you know, that to me is a very incriminating thing and does tend to show that at least some people were pushing a fake elector scheme as opposed to an alternate elector scheme," he told the host. ...
