'Capitulated and groveled': Author issues blistering attack as media ignores Trump book

Author Michael Wolff claimed Thursday that the news media is so terrified of President Donald Trump and his threat of lawsuits that they won't go near his new book on the president.

Wolff described his book, All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America, as "an account, from sources in close and constant contact with him, of the mercurial if not daft behavior during the 2024 campaign, and of the flunkies and yes-men who surrounded him, many of whom now occupy senior-most roles in the new White House."

This is Wolff's fourth book on Trump. He wrote in The Hollywood Reporter that the president has threatened him over every new release....

Netanyahu protesters unleash maggots and crickets at Watergate Hotel: report

Protesters unleashed maggots, crickets and mealworms at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is staying.

A video posted on Instagram by the Palestinian Youth Movement and its DMV chapter showed swarms of insects with the caption: "BON APPETIT!! MAGGOTS REPORTEDLY RELEASED ON THE CRIMINAL ZIONIST’S WAR TABLE!"

"Protestors reportedly manufactured chaos at the Watergate Hotel last night so that Netanyahu, Israeli Mossad agents, and the Secret Service had no peace as they continue to terrorize our people."...

'No, no, and no': Watergate lawyer destroys Trump's latest claims in docs case

Former President Donald Trump is still lying about how he handled classified information and the powers he had over it as an ex-president, Watergate lawyer Jill Wine-Banks told MSNBC's Joy Reid on Wednesday.

This comes after a day of whirlwind activity in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, which saw Judge Aileen Cannon block the Trump legal team's bid to try to issue a mega-filing potentially full of unexplored defense theories.

"Part of what he's trying to do with his audience — and they love it — saying he committed no crimes because everything he did he was allowed to do, had total immunity to do," said Reid. "Here he is talking about one of the most obvious crimes, taking the classified documents. Here he is talking about that."...

'Breathtaking': Watergate prosecutor stunned by Trump's argument for presidential immunity

'Breathtaking': Watergate prosecutor stunned by Trump's argument for presidential immunity

The extent to which Donald Trump claims to have immunity from criminal charges is truly "breathtaking," a former Watergate prosecutor said Saturday.

Assistant Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks appeared on MSNBC's American Voices with Alicia Menendez, where she was asked about how likely it is that Trump will have his election subversion charges dismissed due to presidential immunity findings.

"Not at all. It's a simple answer," she said. "I believe the law and the facts in this case align and make it very clear that he has violated the law, that he does not have immunity." ...

'I'd be shocked': Watergate whistleblower says Trump can't delay election case beyond 2024

'I'd be shocked': Watergate whistleblower says Trump can't delay election case beyond 2024

The Supreme Court's decision on Friday to sidestep special counsel Jack Smith's request to immediately take up former President Donald Trump's claim of immunity from prosecution is a win for the former president's efforts to delay and push out the date of his criminal trial for the 2020 plot to overthrow the presidential election — which experts believe he is trying to stall out until after the 2024 election, where if he wins he could make the trial go away with his control of the Justice Department.

But Trump shouldn't count on being able to delay it that far, said former Nixon White House counsel and Watergate whistleblower John Dean on CNN.

"Do they have the expiration date, do you see a scenario where Trump could, if the chips fall, all the chips fall in his direction, could delay beyond the election?" asked anchor Jim Sciutto....

'Political consequences': Watergate prosecutor explains why Trump isn't in jail yet

Donald Trump was fined $15,000 for repeatedly violating a civil court's gag order regarding attacks on court staff, but the judge might not be willing to do more than meaningless financial penalties, former Watergate prosecutor and "Sisters in Law" co-host Jill Wine-Banks said.

Wine-Banks appeared on MSNBC's Ayman on Saturday, where she was asked about the likelihood that the judge will "make good on his threat of prison time against Trump if he keeps violating this order." Trump has violated the order twice and shows "no indication that he is going to stop," the host said.

That's a position "that no judge wants to be in," according to Wine-Banks....
