Trump's own Fed pick will head to the 'firing squad'  within two months: expert

President Donald Trump's pick for Fed chair Kevin Warsh was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday in a 54-45 vote, the most divisive confirmation in the modern era — but that might not be enough for Trump, especially as the Iran war has sent prices soaring in the United States and inflation skyrocketing as economists expect interest rate cuts to be put off.

Warsh was the only Fed chair nominee in modern history to receive nearly zero bipartisan support, with Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman the sole Democrat to cross party lines to vote for him. That vote came the same day Fetterman cast the deciding vote against a war powers resolution to end Trump's Iran war.

GOP hurls support behind progressive over Republican — and expert calls it a 'confession'

One of the largest political action committees aligned with House Republicans is backing a progressive Democrat in California running to unseat Rep. David Valadao (R-CA), a move that one political expert described as a "confession," according to a new report.

The Congressional Leadership Fund recently sent out mailers supporting progressive Democrat Randy Villegas, a college professor, as he competes against Democratic Assemblymember Jasmeet Bains in California's 22nd District, The Sacramento Bee reported. Some experts suggested that the move is intended to help Villegas win the race against Bains by turning moderate voters away from Democrats and toward Republicans.

New GOP move could wipe out one of the last Black-majority districts in the Deep South

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) announced a special legislative session to redraw congressional maps ahead of the 2028 elections — a move that could deliver Republicans a stranglehold on the state's congressional delegation and put a crosshairs on one of the last rural Black-majority congressional districts in the South.

The announcement comes in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling in a Louisiana case that handed Republican-controlled Southern legislatures a green light to revisit their congressional maps. GOP governors across the region have been racing to take advantage of the decision ever since.

FBI chief Kash Patel 'padding the stats' to make himself look good: insiders

FBI Director Kash Patel strutted into a Senate hearing Tuesday, brandishing a large black placard of statistics and daring his critics to dispute them. But current and former law enforcement officials say those numbers are a sham.
