'So little planning': Trump mocked as Mexico refuses to let deportation flight land

For years, Mexico has allowed the United States' deportation flights to cross over its airspace when flying undocumented immigrants back to their home countries without incident. But that's apparently no longer the case, according to a new report.

On Friday, NBC News found that Mexico refused a U.S. military plane access to its airspace when flying migrants to Guatemala. And as American Immigration Council senior fellow Aaron Reichlin-Melnick noted, another Central American country appears to have also not allowed the United States to fly over its airspace, given the flight's unusually circuitous route.

Trump reinstates Republican abortion gag rule for overseas NGOs

In a widely expected move, President Donald Trump capped off the anti-abortion March for Life celebrations by reinstating the so-called "Mexico City Rule," an abortion restriction that has been in place under every Republican president since the Ronald Reagan administration, The New York Times reported Friday.

The rule is an expansion of existing federal law that bans direct funding of abortion care. Under the Mexico City Rule, often known by critics as the "global gag rule," federal funding also cannot go to any overseas nongovernmental organization that provides abortions, even if the funding itself is for something other than abortion — and the ban also extends to groups that simply advocate or inform people on abortion care.

'Beta male': Internet amused as Newsom puts Trump 'instantly in his place'

The internet intently watched as Gov. Gavin Newsom walked onto the tarmac as President Donald Trump arrived in California on Friday afternoon to tour the devastation left by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Trump team pushing ‘utter propaganda’ on deportations to create ‘climate of fear’: experts

The Trump administration’s long-promised “largest mass deportation operation” in U.S. history, which was announced to begin “on day one,” has so far resulted in what some experts and immigration advocates suggest are an average number to mild increase in arrests and deportations. Activists, experts, and journalists are working to provide context to the White House’s claims of its own effectiveness.

“The White House said immigration agents have arrested 538 undocumented immigrants with criminal records and deported ‘hundreds’ more,” The Washington Post reported Friday. “Those numbers, if accurate, would be relatively modest for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement surge operations — a possible indication that the Trump administration’s show of force has so far outpaced the government’s capacity to deliver on the president’s lofty goals.”

'Deserves lasting infamy': Libertarian goes scorched-Earth on Trump action

President Donald Trump's phone call with the Prime Minister of Denmark about his ongoing obsession with acquiring Greenland has sent Danish officials into a state of alarm, the Financial Times reported on Friday.

The call with Mette Frederiksen took place last week, according to the report. "Frederiksen said she had emphasized that the vast Arctic island — an autonomous part of the kingdom of Denmark — was not for sale, while noting America’s 'big interest' in it" — but according to other European officials privy to the call, Trump did not care for her answer and "had been aggressive and confrontational following the Danish prime minister’s comments that the island was not for sale, despite her offer of more co-operation on military bases and mineral exploitation."
